Bug after patch 6

Figured this bitch out.

Basicly, what you have to do is bind your controls in game, then hit escape to return to the game, and when it brings up the whole controls arent bound thing, you gotta hit escape again and it takes you to whatever isnt bound, then keep doing that till you have it all and then hit escape directly and go back into game.

Also, what I did was ran the game in XP compatability mode (I changed all the EXEs in the program files folder) and I set each of those to run as administrator.

I think you only need to do the first part, but I could have sworn that I DID that before.

Any how I contacted RS who said that win 7 is not supported and they couldent help me but to try running it in compatabiliity mode.

I mean thats totaly f*cking lame, but its not a surprise concidering that SAN Andreas wouldent work with a dual core processor (I mean it ran, but what it did was there were keyboard controls that wouldent work... what the hell is up with that?, you couldent shut down your cores either and fix it, it just went as usual, and I did this, and it f*cked up my mobo all the same...). But whatever, at least I got it down, GTA is gotta be one of the glitchyest games I have ever played.

I get that there would be gameplay glitches, The world and AI and whatnot is still one of the most complex as I have seen (yhea, its better than skyrim in my opinion, by quite a bit too) but at the same time, the interface glitches and all the other bullsh*t is just unexeptable. On top of that, the whole forcing windows live and social club sh*t is rediculous.

Also, once the controlmap.dat file has been updated, (you can tell when its modified date has changed to about when you successfully changed your controls instead of the install date) you can take of windows compatability, so it dosent have to run like sh*t.

Hi guys,

In Episode 2 there are new key mappings (ie. detonate sticky bomb) that are mandatory keys mapped to the "down" key.

These mappings aren't exposed in Patch 6 until you add E2 which we realize not everyone will do.

We've created a left hand controlmap.dat file that swaps the WASD keys with the Up,Down,Left,Right arrow keys. Please download the file and place it into your savegame folder. You'll still be able to modify the key mappings with this file as long as the Down key is left alone.

Apologies for this, thanks for your continued support.

hello Toronto my name is john I'm a big fan of the Rockstar game franchise and GTA is one of my favorite games ...that being said, the reason I am writing you today is because I am a quadriplegic and I am unable to drive the vehicles now because the config only supports W,A,S,D. In the earlier versions I could turn using my mouse which was awesome because I wear a head mouse which moves the direction I look, because I cannot use my hands, although I would not configure my mouse to control forwards and backwards I really need the option to control the X axis which would be the A and D function, with my mouse X axis. I am preying this could be modified into the ControlMap.dat file so I could play the GTA IV games I've already purchased on pc as well as the new GTA V which I'm wanting to purchase, as of now I feel as though I have wasted my money due to having purchased the games on Steam and have yet to play them due to this reason. I greatly appreciate your time and effort smile.gif my email address is [email protected] in case emailing me the file would be easier than posting it on the forum THANKS A MILLION IN ADVANCE!

he could post his requests several times in the "GTA V wants" thread in the GTA V forums here though. maybe somebody at rockstar see it, then make the necessary files in GTA V - which could encourage a gta IV modder re-engineering the file into the GTA IV universe. i think though rockstar is really lazy... and he would get much better results complaining about it on a blog he created, then sending rockstar the link so maybe they would get off their collective as and really do something about it... its 2013, if they want to create virtual reality worlds that are immersive, they should do it for disabled gamers also...

@ "Quadrip", don't be bumping old threads. like dude above said, they are long gone from this section of the forums
