GTAIV/ EFLC performing quite good after the latest patch, but there is always room for better performance.. I'm still bugged with the memory leak thing which causes the game to freeze after some time.. the usual RESC10 /D3D errors.. It's even worse in the expansions, I finished the first mission of the lost & the damned and now I kinda feel lost & damned. Haven't played since then, the crashes/ freezes/ error make me rage like hell

- An option to quit to the main menu because in the EFLC you have to quit the game to start the new episode for the main menu.

 

- Fix the detached shadows.

 

- Remove the vram restrictions.

 

- Skip the credits at the start.

Patch 6 was a disaster!

 

The stuttering and lag it introduces makes the game unplayable.

Its on the shelf for now. I bought EFLC on disc, and since it comes with the new graphic system, its unplayable.

 

Rockstar will soon recognice the bad performance, and make a patch more suited for mid/highend users.

Just read the forum, the problems are all over the place.

 

I have NEVER, bought a new game that come with performance this bad. Hell, the stuttering is worse than the original GTA4 1.0

Steering wheels still suck in IV. They say they fixed the deadzone and that's not the issue. Whatever it is, it sucks. The wheel is unresponsive until turned roughly 20%, and the speed sensitive steering makes it impossible. Logitech MOMO Force here, though I think all wheels suffer the same issues.

- fix the pop-in/missing textures problem

 

- change the savegame dir, since the EFLC is using the same one as the original GTA4, this made players have to move the savegame to appropriate one (when going to play GTA4, move away the EFLC saves; opposite when try to run EFLC), otherwise the game will crash. (correct me if I'm wrong on this)

 

- fix the error when adjusting move backwards in on foot section in custom mapping.

SA is a old game you can use the towtruck, but IV the new game cant??

EFLC even laggs on on my i7 3.42GHz and GTX480.

Anyways, I'd want modding support.

Although this will never happen, just think.

 

If they added support that was only for single player, there would be less people trying to unofficially add support,

meaning less chance of them adding online modding.

Or people would manipulate the official support...

I also doubt it will ever happen cause rockstar just seems to be a buncho fkin idiots that don't care about community, imagine if they functioned like good pc game devs and released dedicated servers and modding tools for their games..

 

I would never dl anything from, valve for example, because they give quality... but future rockstar titles... don't wanna pay for a story like this again.

 

anyway fix ur sh*t performance, optimize the game or w/e for patch 7... and quick please, not acceptable for a release.

A small request. Basically, if your using a controller, and your on the pre-game menu, and you enter the Options, you cant change tabs at the top, you HAVE to use the mouse to change which settings you want to change. When in-game on the pause menu, you can happily swap between tabs.

 

Please allow us to control everything in the game (bar video editor i guess, for obvious reasons) with the controller

As I see you also have an AMD/ATI video card, so my theory is that GTA IV doesn't like ATI cards (5800 series) cause my game's running much slower than before with nvidia card

I just want to hit above 30 fps for more than 5 seconds.

 

I do the benchmark on high settings and it says average of 45 fps but when I play the game runs NOWHERE NEAR this.

 

2.60Ghz quad core

ATI 5879

and 4GB RAM

 

This should be more than enough to run the game bove 30fps. At night even with night shadows on low I only get about 25-30 fps. The frames are playable but that is ot the point, I can run Just cause 2 at maximum settings 8xAA and all that jazz and get frames in the 60-70 range most of the time and tht game is much better looking.

Seriously how can they screw up something as fundamental as mouse aim, especially for a SHOOTING GAME?!

In my opinion if there is another patch R* should do something really extreme like update RAGE and Euphoria to the latest versions so that the game renders so it looks a hell of alot nicer then at the moment, optimize performance, fix bugs and so on.

Updating RAGE and Euphoria would be quite time consuming and would be an extreme update but the end result would make an even more marvelous looking game then GTA IV is at the moment.

For the patch 7, wish they fix the bug to FPS drop at the Hapiness Island and give more performance because the shadows are too heavy. And no stutter because i run the game at 30/40/50 and sometimes i have some stutters.

 

And fix the textures problems. But in first case fix the problem with water on hapiness island if clip capture is off.

 

 

Just one thing: fix performance .

Exactly. Fix the sh*tty pop-up things, performance in both episodes as it was in GTA IV with patch 5 installed, and playable fps when I get near the water in The Ballad Of Gay Tony!

 

This happens too in TLAD. In GTA IV i don't know because i don't ave save yet.

I think TLAD is worse in performance, not fps, but in stable. TLAD is less stable than TBOGT.

 

GTA IV for me is good, i don't have stuttering in GTA IV.

 

Now the EFLC needs a patch.

Please:

 

- improve texture loading algorithm to reduce texture pop-in (it wasn't that noticable in older patches)

- fix brightness/contrast slider mixup

- fix framerate slowdowns near water when Clip Capture is ON (EFLC specific?)

- try not to introduce other bugs by fixing above

 

So far 6th patch is best of all when I don't count some little cripples like these listed before. I'm running with High textures and Xbox 360 detail level (21, 10, 33, high shadows, medium reflections), framerate locked at 30 fps and everything is smooth.

Dedicated servers - aint happening

 

Shuttering - They technically can help reduce it, but not fix it, unless the game gets rewritten to SSE instructions LOLOLOLZ NOT HAPPENING.

 

Popins - you can fix it. Take the amount of VRAM you want to dedicate to GTA 4, and multiply by 1024 and multiply again by 1024.

 

EX: I want to dedicate 1GB of VRAM to GTA so id do it like this 1000 x 1024 x 1024 = 1048576000

So what would you do with this number is make a commandline file and put in -memrestrict -1048576000

As long as your video usage does not go over 1GB in the settings, you will experience popin free gaming. Go over 1GB, your game will crash and stuff.

 

They need to make the game take better advantage of the GPU, but the game needs to be written in SSE instruction set, which is not, so go back to the second comment to get my response.

Please fix the pop-in and texture flashing that occurs since patch 6 when moving a high speed - particularly when flying a helicopter.

I can't be the only one that wants recoil/bullet deviation can I? that's the biggest complaint I have left I think..... push to talk is up there but at least there is a way around it.
