Same here, no issues downloading DLC either, its well on its way, do people getting errors have the GFWL client installed also? I'm getting the error when trying the DLC. Maybe it's getting hammered. How does that make sense in any way? well i bought gtaiv, and had to wait about 2 years to play it properly, if the dlc and patch required to run it is going to slow fps with "new" features that should of been working 2 yrs ago then i think i will rather not play it, i have a feeling this may be the last patch we`l see too. Confucius44 Posted April 13, 2010 Share Posted April 13, 2010 (edited) Doesn't work here. With the new update, I'm unable to lower the resolution on my 512mb Radeon 3650. Post-update the game defaults to native monitor resolution, but 1680x1050 is too high for this game on my machine (~10fps). Any lower resolution breaks the game. The screen turns very dark, nearly black. The options sliders still work fine. The mouse cursor becomes a black square. I might as well report also that the z-bug is still a problem on older Radeons like mine. This is the issue that is only resolved by using Catalyst 9.1. Edit: I deleted my commandline.txt and that fixed the changing resolutions issue. Generally performance does seem better. It seems to me that it now renders shadows properly and the night shadows will hurt fps like the shadow maps did. Shadows on high before looked like crap but look much better now on high. Medium shadows look better than the old ones but less quality than high with better performance. To me, this is how it should have been. Anyone that was running high shadows on a budget card(like my 9600GT) will have to drop the shadows to medium to get better performance. it's in line with games like Just Cause 2, where high shadows kill performance and medium are a mix of good performance and quality. The only thing that's actually the most brilliant of all is the 'AA'. If I could get it to work actually... And the rest: why is there so much hate? Yes they're late with patches and whatnot, but they actually fix stuff and update their game. No AA... but hey, wasn't there a workaround? Go ahead, cancel your pre-order because you're too lazy to configure the game properly to get the best visuals/preformance. Whatever, the thing I'm most concerned about now is if we're able to mod this properly (VISUAL MODS... in other words: NO hacks) and still be able to go online and play fair matches. grabber Posted April 13, 2010 Share Posted April 13, 2010 Custom mapping for keyboard controles, is broken since the patch. I edited the default keys, to my own key bindings. There were no keys left behind with the message: "???" I want to save my keys, the following message comes up: a critical key is missing. This can't be true. I checked everything. Try deleting the game settings, look in the FAQ ˇˇ Did you start a new game or something, maybe you still don't have access to the phone.
