James_Earl_Cash
Alex, no offense or anything, but you are solely responsible for all the cheaters and hackers. AFAIK, you were the first one to mod GTA IV, with your ASI Loader. How does that make you feel?

sjaak327
As long as Rockstar doesn't prevent modding in SP I'm fine with it, It would be nice if instead of ignoring the questions (serveral people have asked ) they would answer them, as and IF they do prevent SP modding, I can still cancel my pre-order as without mods the game will be so much more boring. By the way, it's silly to hold Alexander responsible for the few whingers that try to disrupt games.

Well maybe you should hold Rockstar and Microsoft accountable for that. Apparently nothing is done to ban people who are willingly messing up games. Gforce
meh, the online servers were totally empty whenever i went online with IV-PC to go into Race, compared to Xbox live the PC version of IV online is a joke, there's nobody there, then again PC sales of IV compared to Console sales are minute in comparison so a lower amount of players is expected and given the amount of cash generated on the different platforms i guess more attention is given to the platform generating the most income. it's amazing how many people are prepared to pay to play on a system where everyone is using the exact same "stable" hardware platform with a level playing field and best of all, no online cheating but then again you get what you pay for. NTAuthority
• Enhanced security to isolate users from cheaters and hackers • Enhanced security to isolate Alexander Blade from modding = ) I can't guess any way of fully 'blocking' multiplayer modding other than some VAC-style file checksum upload and remote server authentication key system, which would still be circumventable by changing the files checked. Or wait, it said 'isolate', would that mean separate 'worlds' for 'clean' and 'dirty' games? Anyway, please, if making another fix, PROTECT IT A BIT BETTER AGAINST REAL CHEATERS. Another thing to wait for with modding is (obviously, it's another update) for the various script APIs (Alice, aru's API) to be updated for the recompiled patch. To any people still wondering, there's no way to make an update to GTAIV.exe without breaking compatibility with such hooks, unless R* would release a public API, which they never will. sjaak327
Apparantly the exe for EFLC is called EFLC.exe, version 1.1.1.0 And indeed the usage of the word Isolate seems a bit strange. In any case, I am surprised by the usage of the word hacker in this context.
NTAuthority
Apparantly the exe for EFLC is called EFLC.exe, version 1.1.1.0 In that case I guess hooking will be like SA v1.01 and v2.0, EFLC being 2.0 and the IV patch being 1.01. Most of the compiled code's locations are exactly the same, but a few tiny differences make them a bit incompatible. I'd hate to be one of the base hook developers right now, having to update for 2 patches at once. Inactive in GTA/R* title modification indefinitely pursuant to a court order obtained by TTWO. slowride
This is awesome news! I was doubting a 6th patch but i'm glad to see one will be released. Yes, especially with delays. Everyone will pay full price for 8 months old console ports, PC just sucks ass.

Rob.Zombie
That sounds too awesome to be true. I'm getting this feeling, that either they won't solve all of these problems, or they'll make new 1s. FullMetal
If it indeed means that players with modded games and non modded games have seperate multiplayer it would suck even more than before. I only have VISUAL customisations (player skins/weapon models & skins) installed and I'd have to play with real hackers then? (people using trainers, editing weapon configurations and whatnot). That would be total bullsh*t... Instead of doing such a thing add a VOTING/KICKING system, especially in ranked 'competetive' gametypes. Being able to starts 'votes' to change map, gametype, kick players and whatnot. Eventhough most people are too f*cking retarded to even press a button in order to kick someone who spoils the fun, the fact that it is there would mean alot. If you happen to be in a game with 'sane people' you'd have a chance to play a fair and fun game. But whatever, we shall see.

Smiler-Online
As probably the first person to get my hands on this game I'm eagerly awaiting this patch, http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=378269&st=0 I can't wait to see the fixes that we shouldn't have had to wait this long for, I hope that the DLC is low cost as R*'s apology to us who have been waiting so long for this patch! Smiler-Online
Is patch 6 going to mess with handling files in the way EFLC does, ie not editable with notepad ? Well even if it does, as long as you'd backup the files before the update, everything should be fine... this is GTA, we know that someone will find a way to get your old mods working again

It seems the new way of doing things won't even let you replace or add cars.
