Microsoft Lifechat lx-3000 microphone problem.

Hi everyone, I bought the lx-3000 today, the headphones work perfectly, but the microphone will just not work. I've tried plugging it into different slots, setting it as the default microphone etc - nothing.

 

Perhaps you guys might have some insight.

Not meaning to bump or double post, but please, if someone knows anything.. please respond. This is so annoying.

 

One headset has crap audio quality, but an amazing mic, and the other headset has amazing audio quality but a non-working mic it seems..

Have you unmuted the microphone volume in your Windows volume settings?

 

If that's not the case, I'd say the mic is just faulty.

 

Edit: the issue you're having seems pretty common.

 

I'd suggest returning it and getting a different headset.

Well thanks for replying, you're probably right.

 

What's weird is, when I go into the sound menu, the microphone is muted, yet I unmute it, but it won't let me click Apply, just OK. I can hear the feedback from it, but it won't hear my voice. The bass is amazing, but the microphone is broken probably, what the..
