Introduction:

Right, now I know you'll be wondering why I've bothered creating a thread, but let me explain! The purpose of the thread is for me to keep things a bit more organized, make announcements regarding the event, for people who'll be online to decide which games to play and for people to come and put forward their own ideas. This IS a public event afterall!

 

The event:

As previously stated, this IS a public event. It's hosted by me (LeeLee862), and due to it's recent popularity, I've decided to host it every Sunday now. We simply play our own custom games. The games will begin at 6PM GMT and run straight through 'til 8PM. Don't worry, it won't interfere with 16 v LCPD! If you wish to participate either post in this thread or shoot me a friends request on XBL! If you have any game ideas simply tell us the name of your game and thoroughly explain the rules in the thread! Thanks!

 

Right, the games will be put into three categories: Free Mode Games, TDM Games & "Epic Games." All games are played with disallow. All team games are played with blips set to team.

AOD Battleships Ahoy mateys! For AOD battleships, everybody must drop their current outfit and don a pink frilly sailors outfit and head out to the high seas. First, players must equip a grenade launcher and stock up. Next step is to find a boat (not a Tug and one player per boat) and head out to sea. Once all participants are out at sea, form a circle leaving just enough space between each boat for players to reach with the grenade launcher. Players take it in turns to attempt to sink their rivals battleship. The last player with their boat intact is the victor and will be awarded the prestigious title of "seaman" wink.gif Watch out! Grenade... Starboard bound!

 

Human Bowling =A=
Rooftop Billiards Basically, the roof top version of AOD Battleships. There is a single version and a team version. In the single player version, it's one player per roof, in the team version it's 2 (or more) per roof. Players must find 3 buildings that are even in height and distance from each other. You are allowed to move and fully utilize your surroundings to avoid falling grenades.
Skeet Shooting =A=

Border Patrol Two teams, one being the Mexicans and one being the Boarder Patrol. The boarder patrol has to build a blockade at a specified area, while the Mexicans have to get past it using anything they can throw at them. There are two main rules to remember: No RGP's or explosives and no scouting to see what the other team is doing!
Home Security Basically, a "seige" game. Teams head to a specified house. One team defends the house, the other team must attempt to take out all opposing team members and take over the house. Locations are: Brian's safehouse, Jamaican house & Bucky Sligo's house.
Protect the VIP =A=
Scouts & Snipers Basically, teams of two (one scout, one sniper) on Charge/Colony Island. Scouts sniff out sniper positions for their team mate and snipers snipe. Snipers can't kill Scouts and visa versa. Simples! Now, I'm fully aware that accidents can and will most probably happen, so we'll all have to take precautions. Basically, if you're a scout, so not to throw off the snipers, please carry no weapons! I cannot stress this enough. If you're carrying a weapon, even for scoping out snipers and you get sniped, it's your OWN fault. Not the snipers. The snipers are looking for snipers so if you're carrying a sniper and you're not a sniper and get sniped nobody but you is to blame... yeah! But obviously, snipers, don't take any cheap shots at any scouts to antagonise them or whatever. I'd like evrybody to be on their best behaviour!

Manhunt A bounty has been placed! Two teams: The Runners & The Hunters. Hunting team will comprise of most online participants and the Running team will comprise of considerably less. So on average, 2 Runners to 6 Hunters. Runners are given 5 minutes to run off into the chosen Borough while Hunters stock up in another borough. Once the 5 minutes are up the hunt will begin. Hunters, all vehicles are allowed. Bikes, cars, choppers, hell, even use a boat if you like. However, Runners MUST stay on foot at all times. No camping. If it's absolutely necessary that you must camp then no more than 2 minutes please. Runners are allowed to defend themselves but RPG's are out of bounds. Nowhere is off limits, but players must stay in the chosen borough. Once a Runner has been killed he is then killed, but will still be able to defend his fellow Runner(s) from being killed. Once all Runners are killed, the game is won. Whoever claims the bounty will be the running the next game.

Manhunt was fun today, guys. The last match annoyed me though due to lag and incompetant team mates! I was going for a hatrick! I just KNEW Alex would be the guy to take me out!! sad.gif

 

Anyway, I'm hoping to mix it up every week and keep things fresh. So any ideas would be welcome, guys!

Oh yeah, I still need to add that to the games list. I'll add that and the zombie game later on! Any more suggestions? Anything original?

 

EDIT:

 

Zombie Game (any ideas for a name?) & Tasty Takeover added to the games table. Rules for these games and the others to be filled in over the next couple of days.

So, Alex has suggested that we include a mini-A/G game in the event. Now, I'd be up for it, but right now, I barely see the point. We have enough ground troops but we've got a distinct lack of pilots who attend the event on a regular basis. Of course, the game would just be for sh*ts and giggles, but it'd still be good to have a couple of decent pilots in the air to present the ground troops with a challenge!

We could save that one for when we know we have a couple skilled pilots with us. I'm always up for getting some ground practice and lighting up some nasty Helis. I'd vote for Tasty Takeover this Sunday.. love that one. Skeet shooting at the bike shop is really good with 6+ people too.

Well, alright. I'm not a big fan of the mess around games myself. I have to be in a real goofy mood to enjoy games like Tasty Takeover. Usually, I prefer to play something properly organized and team based. But, I'll host it for everybody else smile.gif

biggrin.gif Well last night was pretty good fun. Despite some unwanted RPGs, Home Security was a fine success. It has similar elements of Protect the VIP. Defenders/attackers. Great locales. Maybe we could continue to find more great spots for these games. It worked really well with 3-on-3 and 4-on-4.

 

inlove.gif Tasty Takeover was simply amazing as always. That Ice Cream truck takes a beating! Everytime LeRay was about top get jacked, he'd say "I need to get health or this things gonna blow" and he'd slip away for another chase!

 

Zombies was my least fav of the night but still fun. With all the chasing it reminds me a bit of the Tasty game. monocle.gif I thought Nitty had the right idea with keeping with using shottys and fixed clothed survivors, giving survivors a nice run & holdout edge. devil.gif When I think of zombie attacks I think of constant attacking action and zombie heads blowing up, not all foot chase. Maybe we could refine this a bit.

 

Any ideas for next week?

My Idea for Zombies is as follows :

 

One survivor in normal clothing

The rest all in zombie skins

 

TDM All zombies on the same team, survivor by himself

 

Settings as follows

 

Time = 5 mins

Blips leader = survivor shoots one zombie to start the game, this way we always know where the survivor is and they dont know where we are, I thought of doing team blips but this would encourage camping

weapons = shotties

weather = foggy

time = midnight

Location = any island, possibly prison or industrial or docks ?

 

games would only be 5 min long so the survivor role could be rotated quickly and the winner would be the survivor with the highest score, and as the settings are "blips leader" if we do manage to kill the survivor they would have the added ability of being hidden if the zombies went into the lead.

 

Thoughts ??

These settings are perfect for keeping the action up, keeping the blip on the lone survivor, and making for some nice surprises ph34r.gif . 5 minute rounds would keep the survivors cycling quite nicely and with a competitive edge with death counts. icon14.gif Nice work!

 

Liam - You are ze host wis ze most, your call on how to run these babies. I think it's best if we continue to work on making these better and better if we can.

 

Home Security is great too. If we can eventually use some more locales and figure out a way to avoid cheating, it would be even better imo. It would also help if we could get more people on GTA for Sundays. Ive been really enjoying where this is headed (in possibly the last days of GTA confused.gif ).

 

Can I request either Battleships or Billiards next Sunday along with more Home Sec, VIP, and Tasty or Zombie? As much as I like the sticky bomb game, I've been enjoying the change.

Alright, I'm going to lay down a few ground rules for Home Security. First and foremost, explosives are allowed, but NO RPG's under ANY circumstances! That mostly goes for you LeRay. If you begin throwing a temper tantrum then either leave the game or just get the fook over it quickly! There's no need to go running for an RPG. It just ruins the game and it quickly descends into chaos. And secondly, no shooting the opposing team on the street outside from the house (or another building for that matter - again, LERAY!!) and visa versa. No killing each other in the street either. The only place the gun slangin' will take place is on the property itself, yah hurr?!

 

Yeah sure, Swooner. We'll go on TLAD for 30 mins and get some Battleships and Billiards done then we'll hop onto IV to give Nitty's zombie game rules a blast then we'll get some Home Security and Protect the VIP in for an hour or so. If you can find any decent location for Home Security then shoot me an invite when we're next both online and show me. AAAIIIGGGHHHTTTT!! smile.gif

Well, those are the rules I put in place right from the get-go, but certain people chose to ignore them. I hate having to be a hard ass but I'm definitely going to have to be to enforce these rules. It's not rocket science though. Just refrain from firing until you're on/in the property and don't go running for rockets. It's simple!

kinko aimed at me. and on gta when some one aims at you they are likely going to shoot. Just natural to shoot.

 

Now onto the hands of killing inside. What if you can't get inside. Then there wont be any killing.

Confining the combat to the interior and immediate exterior of the building keeps a continuous flow of action. That way there's no hard feelings once somebody gets shot whilst making their way to the location. I've seen you use your turbo, RPG's, start corner glitching and allsorts once you've lost your temper during this particular game. Sorry to say but you've been the biggest trouble maker & the biggest whiner when it comes to Home Security. You should know better than anybody why I'm enforcing this rule.

I know why, but like i said the incident when i killed kinko on the roof was just reaction.

 

and corner glitching is what i am used to doing so it is hard to stop it. i will try to though.

 

Using turbo i have only done once. Thats is and that was on kinko when he annoyed me.

 

Like i have said several times people need to realize i know how to shoot without my turbo.

Well, yesterday's games were pretty good. It seemed like we had more people than last week which is always a big plus. cookie.gif Zombies stole the night for me. I thought it was real good how we all contributed to getting the settings just right. Shotty's are brutal good vs zombies. It was cool to see how many times the survivors died. The mob would always go after someone who hadn't been killed yet. tons o fun. I'd only played as a zombie, but had an absolute blast hiding in bushes and eating LeRay's brains!

 

Home Security was a pretty good time as well. I wasn't sure what the time settings were (30 minutes?), but it felt like maybe we could have shorten the length just a wee bit imho (20 min each maybe). Jamaican house was perfect and that combat shotty spawn on the "stoop" made for some convenient kills. Guru, I'd watch you creep up to the front door through the window lol. JB was stuck in a wall on the roof. tounge.gif Crack Shack was a nice addition, though it seemed like maybe a bit too much space. Still pretty fun. How was that sammich, Alien? alien.gif

 

Too bad we didn't have time for battleships or billiards... perhaps next time. icon14.gif Good night, friends.
