Andrew Posted April 3, 2010 Share Posted April 3, 2010 Actually USB3.0 isn't that expensive, an upgrade card in the UK according to Custom PC, ranges from 20 to 50 quid depending on what you want. Which to enable USB3.0 on a pc isn't really lot of money. Considering some USB3.0 motherboards are quite expensive. @gtabest, USB3.0 is faster then USB2.0 and since it is backwards compatible with USB1.0 and 2.0 will very quickly become the defacto standard. Edit: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2009/12/18/first-look/1 heres an article detailing the first tests with USB3.0 They mention that average could achieve 3 - 4gb/sec, compared to USB2s 40mb/sec. So that I don't need to buy a new PC the next day I buy an USB 3.0 compatible computer . Scorpus Posted April 4, 2010 Share Posted April 4, 2010 when SATA 3.0 and PCI-E 3.0 come out. SATA 3 is already out and comes in most new motherboards. It's official name is SATA Revision 3.0 (aka SATA 6 Gb/s). The PCIe 3.0 final specifications are due in Q2 2010 so I would expect a rollout of PCIe 3.0 motherboards sometime in 2011 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
