PoliceMad
I'm just wondering if this Desktop PC would play GTA IV, I don't want it on the highest settings so medium settings is what I will be playing on. Specs are here: Processor - AMD Athlon™ II X2 215 Processor - 2.7 GHz - 2.0 GHz HT (4000 MT/s) - 2 x 512 KB L2 cache RAM - 3 GB - DDR2 Graphics card - NVIDIA® GeForce® 9200 Hard drive - 1 TB SATA 5400 rpm If this won't play GTA IV, could someone reccomend a Desktop for around £450 - £500 Thanks

PoliceMad
I think it would on low/medium details Great, thanks! Thats what I wanted to hear, would it run without lag on low settings?
DjMiikkii
That looks like integrated graphics to me, so no. Well, depending on the resolution you plan on playing it at? Anything around 1280x1024 should be ok on low. Please don't waste your money on a pre-built computer, a vast majority of them are below average for gaming & not even made for gaming + you pay more than you should have to for the computer that it is. If you want a gaming system you HAVE to build your own. You could use your RAM in your current computer in the new desktop if you where to build your own, saving a few dollars! EncryptedReality
On low it wouldnt lag (maybe just a little) but would run 20-30 FPS , on medium you would get average lag 15-25 FPS. I could be wrong though , but this is how i assume it would be.

viometrix
that system is integrated graphics, and even on low it will run choppy as sh*t. i am not going to sugar coat it, that system sucks. pm Warlord. and he will help you with your budget. just dont forget he has a period at the end of his name. Gaming PC - £520-ish. - Phenom 2 XII 555 Black Edition - ATI HD5770 Video Card - 4Gb DDR2 RAM - 500GB 7200RPM drive (Faster than the one you have now) Yea OK it is pre-built. But it's not a office computer like Acer, Compaq, HP, Dell. etc. Since you probably have no experience building PC's I wouldn't trust myself really to tell you to build your own yourself (even though i did..) Thanks for that, but I can't go no further than £500, also I need a monitor, keyboard and mouse. Would this play it? Intel dual core i3-530 processor. 2.93GHz processor speed. 4GB DDR3 RAM. 1TB SATA hard drive. Intel GMA HD graphics. 1GB graphic memory.

LCstuntman
Good luck getting a gaming PC and a monitor for less than 500 pounds You can maybe a lowish to medium range gaming PC with that, but without a monitor. If you don't like building it yourself, CyberPower lets you pick out all the parts and they assemble it for free. Plus it's about the same price as building it yourself. PoliceMad
The only games I will be playing are GTA IV, 911 First Responders and thats it. I don't need a top of the range Desktop, I know it's a shame that I can't go no further than £500!! Surely there must be a Desktop PC out there that will run GTA IV on the lowest settings for about £500?
luceberg
You could pick up something on ebay maybe: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Intel-Quad-Core-3GHz...=item23063c5f15
PoliceMad
Thanks for that, but I would prefer brand new.. What about this? http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/advent-centu...153050-pdt.html
luceberg
Yes, the pc world one would work. The spec of the ebay one is more what you need to run this game half decently though.
Ebernanut
That PC uses an integrated graphics chipset as well, it's much better than the Intel GMA chipset but that's not saying much. Integrated graphics is fine for 2D stuff but horrible for gaming. That PC on ebay is a much better gaming PC and I would guess that it's likely to be as reliable as any new prebuilt PC, though the 400w power supply seems a bit weak for a computer with an overclocked CPU. What about this? http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/advent-centu...153050-pdt.html That one looks good, but it doesn't come with a monitor. Not that I can see under the specifications, anyways. PoliceMad
Thanks for the replies, My Dad told me that he has a monitor I can have! So that ADVENT Centurion CPD1301 from PC World would run GTA IV without lag?
DKT70
I only spent 10 minute on this, but more time and I would have gone to all the major online stores. Case, Keyboard and Mouse would be left to you for a choice, I simply picked one to fit in the £500 budget. Without Monitor, With Monitor Both would be more than capable of gaming around 1440 resolution and below. Website was www.ebuyer.com Downside, you would have to build it yourself. Upside, it's far superior to that PC World System, which personally I wouldn't touch with a barge pole.
