Kyle F
Hey guys, how are you today? I have a little bit of an issue. When I sign into LIVE on GTA IV (PC) it fails to download my profile. When it tries downloading my profile it ends up disconnecting me from my Internet Connection (I don't know why). I was kinda hoping you'd help me in this issue. PC Specs: Processor (CPU): AMD Athlon X2 64 Dual Core CPU, 2.8 Ghz (Overclocked to 3.5 Ghz) RAM: 2GB RAM Thanks. EDIT: My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit edition). mkey82
Probably only a momentary problem with GFWL.
Kyle F
Not sure now...everytime I start IV, Windows 7 appears to disconnect my connection.
mkey82
GFWL gets disconnected or the entire system?
Kyle F
Whole system. However I downloaded some GFWL patch, and I can connect again. Now to my BIGGEST issue. I restored my backed up save game from when I had IV on XP. I made a fresh installation of Windows 7 (whiped my Internal drive) but had my game backup on my external 500GB Seagate HDD. I transferred the game file (SGTA400) or something to my: "C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\savegames\" directory and started IV. It loads nice and smoothly, no lag, no issues with graphical and audio stuff etc..signs into GFWL, and then...."Starting New Game...". Once the new game loads, I go to the menu and go to "Game" > "Load"....and it says there's no save on my damn HDD. I tried using xliveless wrapper thing, but that fails to allow IV to launch.. I am running patch 1.0.0.4 of GTA IV (latest from Rockstar Games), running Windows 7 Ultimate etc etc. Can a poor GTA gamer get more help for this big major f*cked up issue please? Thanks dudes. mkey82
You are probably not using xliveless properly, there is a link in my sig and you should read the included readme file.
Kyle F
Thanks mkey. I'll go try this now.
Kyle F
I did exactly what it said in the readme..I placed the "xlive.dll" into my GTA IV root directory, I double clicked on "LaunchGTAIV.exe", that file loaded, but GTAIV.exe did not. I opened Task Manager, and only "LaunchGTAIV.exe" was loading...

mkey82
You should post some details on what you did to make it work.
