d0mm2k8
@RomanViking: But you're expecting them to act like you would if these things happened to you. These people all have different stories and personalities. Manny grew up in the toughest place in Liberty City that has regular murders. Bernie saw brutal deaths of family and friends during the war. Little Jacob is a drug pushing criminal that gets into shootouts regularly. Packie had an abusive, drunk father and is himself, a drug addict. I'm betting that you haven't experienced any of these situations which all could easily change a persons view on death and fighting. I'm not disagreeing entirely however. Their reactions are far from realistic most likely but also far from cartoony too. I expect the whole believability of the characters to improve ten-fold in GTA V. Kwandilibro
I don't know alot of games where the characters act like real people would in certain situations. There are very little, because that's the entire point of a game. I thought the point of videogames was to experience things we don't get to experience in reality.. I thought that was the appeal of modern games, experience war, experience a criminal's life. Be in a shootout, car chase, skydive. To be frank, more realistic depictions of these things (and character's reacting) would enhance the experience, as the player would be closer to the illusion of being there... therefore it would be more exciting, intense, etc... no game is gonna be completely like a movie or anywhere near real life its just a game
RomanViking
no game is gonna be completely like a movie or anywhere near real life its just a game Then videogames will stagnate. I already see videogames stagnating ---- I bet Modern Warfare 2 has AI no better than the previous 2 Call of Duty's. Using the logic of Modern Warfare 2 being incredible based on it's spectacle ---- I'd also say the film 2012 is the best film ever because it has great CGI... I felt almost nothing playing that game. The enemies you face are incredibly stupid, and to make the game more difficult on the harder difficulties, the AI is essentially given auto-aim and superhuman vision... The game also play's identically to the previous 2 Call of Duty's. No feet/body/shadow nor any reflections anywhere.. Yet Modern Warfare 2 sold incredibly well, and was absurdly well-received. ^You know what all of this proves? That the videogame industry is going downhill. Videogames will never because a recognized art form if the well-recieved war games, or crime games don't become realistic. I don't mean Sims B.S. with food and bathroom breaks: I just mean realistic in it's depiction of stuff, consequences, gameplay, visuals, physics, reactions, etc... Just Cause, Saint's Row, Halo, Call of Duty ---- there are endless games to fulfill arcade gameplay year after year ---- but other videogames really should be trying to do something more serious and advanced... MW2 is the same as the last few cod games. the only improvements are the mutiplayer. thats the only reason people even play COD. not for storyline, AI, characters. you cant even see your protag in COD. its about the multiplayer
denzil
There's not much we can do with the diamonds. Sure we can be around Jerry (the hobo--is that his name?), but we're.. just about done with the diamonds (if not DONE) I think.
Useless Dave
Dimitri untied Niko & Roman in the basement, and suddenly Niko just trusts him, and he goes off and steals vans for them ---- it's all very unnatural and far from believable. Yeah, because his cousin totally wasn't being held hostage by them. denzil, there's a radio ad about him opening up a gun store in Vice City or something.
