AJXX
Hello, I was wondering if anyone else is getting sick of the people that just shoot other players for no reason what so ever? About 98% of players I have come across in the last 6 months have just shot me for no reason at all, its really starting to bug me now and its making multi-player mode rubbish. As a rule if someone starts shooting me for no reason I tend to Jump a few times rather then shoot them back - just to let the noob know that I'm not going to shoot them and give them a chance, if they keep shooting then I normally take them out and go after them until they leave the game - most of the time they try to kick me and its like what the hell? if you don't like it then don't shoot people for no reason! Anyone else feel the same?
ScoobydooWRX
I never usually shoot on first sight unless ive had it done to me so many times that day I just don't trust anyone for a while. What I normaly do is press the "hey" "whats up" button, that sometimes works, but when people shoot me anyway it is very anoying and I do what you do, keep going after them, kill 'em a few times but not till they leave because then I'd feel like the c*nt lol
swooner
This has been one of the biggest arguable debates since the game came out. The thing is, everyone plays FM for different reasons. Some like to meet friendly's and dick around the city. Some like to use it for DM/TDM practice, slaughtering everything in sight. Sometimes both. The problem is you never know what the other guys thinking, so you always need to tread with caution in the mean streets of LC. Fortunately, you have options as to how to set up your game like friendly fire on/off so you don't get non-stop spawn capped. Don't get too worked up, remember it's just a game ...or is it? Booze
I think it would be very boring if no-one ever shot at you for no reason... However, if you want to do other stuff than fighting then you might want to consider turning friendly fire off in the filters, which is now possible on all 3 platforms. LordDastardly
I agree with Booze T - I don't shoot on sight but if nobody ever did it I might have to consider it myself!
Nason
I like to just cruise around usually, so I don't normally shoot first.... If I'm not in the mood for a shootout I'll just take off and outrun them. It's still fun to have some shootouts and whatnot, but it usually just turns into a pointless nonstop deathmatch.... Legacy-666_
friendly fire off mate. then you only have to worry about rpg's, grenades and having your car shot up. you cant really avoid these guys unless you start up a party and invite all you friends. G#O$TR!D3R - 133457
What's lame is that the ones who do this never accept my deathmatch invitation afterward, they just want to be a pain in the ass in free mode while I'm trying to do backflips on a bike. f*cking losers are usually level 2. You mean rank -2 lol Yeah I hate when I spend a long amount of time landing a seriously hard stunt, then when I finally achieve it (900 on the back tailfin of the airliners at the airport) some random noob just kills me. That kind of player will hopefully someday realise how fricken hard it is to get a bike up there and stop being a no brain idiot. *wishful thinking. ScoobydooWRX
What bugs me about being shot first is not the fact that im shot, you have to expect it, even in free mode, its the fact you/Ive just joined a game and I like to go off on my own and get my sh*t together, then join in on the carnage. Unless I can see that someone is just having fun on their own doing their own thing. If there is a game full of non activity (fighting wise) il go and join another game. Unless its the weekend and ive just come back from the pub and have some drink in me, then il admit I can be a c*nt lol Edited April 3, 2010 by ScoobydooWRX

GTAking33
I hate it when you're nice to a random then then they turn around and stab you in the back. ex. yesterday I let this random get in a heli (but I was cautious) I had a RPG in hand and could have blown him up right there. Then he turns around and trys to kill me with it, luckaly he was a bad pilot so I shot him out and spent the rest of the game making him leave. And yeah, killing in self defence is always great, especialy when someones chased you about 10 miles already
nambr9
One thing i admire people for is playing a free game with respawn setting near (preferably airport location). Sometimes, when i find myself in such a game i have a hard time even to pull out the phone to start another game. People just start shooting the instance i respawn and they die few seconds later in a chain reaction .... no fun at all ...
Golden_Ace
Actually those guys can get really annoying if you're playing co-op missions like me... when you have someone that is blowing up cars in BDB, or DB... or (as posted in another topic), quitting races just because they're not in the lead... That's no way of having fun. If fun is annoying others or even blowing up things, there's always free mode or even DM... Some days ago I only found lammers in PSN playing GTA Online... I was getting really annoyed. That and guys that use those lame controllers that auto-press buttons... :\

You mean rank -2 lol Actually, the correct term is level (this has been discussed before), your rank is your leaderboard position. I would estimate that around 90% of people that I meet online use the term "level". Even R* admitted that "Rank Increased!" (what you see on the screen when you level up) was an error on their part. OT - Whenever FF is on, I always assume that everyone is hostile. However, if someone says over their mic (or messages me) "Hey, please don't shoot, I won't shoot you"... then I'll leave them alone. epoxi
I've been both the suspect and the victim for this in Free mode. One time I was having a bad day, so kept on picking on this group of people, they all tried kicking me with no success. I was really proud when they eventually ganged up on me and started pinning me down with cars (friendly fire was switched off). Just remember guys, it's just a game. If someone attacks you, you can always fight back.

I agree ^ but don't they basically mean the same thing? -it can be called rank solely because the game makes you earn the next higher position. Which in IVs case is #1-10 On the other hand, it can be called level because it's all about cash and clothes. Not exactly a true ranking system compared to hardcore shooters. I myself have referred to it as level. It just never mattered to me because I look at them as the samething in IV. Do you got a link where R* talks about the level up system? Haven't came across that yet. Edited April 8, 2010 by SICKRAGE

Would you do it there? I think it's a game, but spoiling fun for others might be crossing some tolerable limits (A.K.A. Abuse). There's always Free mode or even single player for that (I use single player, and most of the times the cops pay the price really high!).
stuart-88
@ Original post. No one cares, nothing is going to change, so why bother? People have been whinging about this for nearly 2 years now. This is GTA ffs.

ikt
Most people also get scared if you stalk them and shoot. No need to worry with me stalking you. I'm just curious. If I wanted to kill you, you'd be dead already. If you don't like it, ask me to go away. Most of the times, this helps. At least, i'll leave if you ask normally. Also, in free mode, i love to get assaulted. I actually enjoy surviving people teaming up on me. Too bad they end up kicking me because they can't kill me. Yeah, I too get more enjoyment from going after people who team up or with clan names. One turd, "eckert1" kept coming after me last night and I obliged by killing 'it'. Cue the usual spam kicking and then messages about nice lag switch and I suck because auto aim/rpg-ing/ramming. It brought a smile to my dial. Turbo Lag
I too brought up a thread about this a couple of months back; and now I don't care anymore. If I see someone obviously being an ass I'll heli blade their ass into the water or something. Now that I can shoot alrite with a chopper, it opens up a lot of opportunities to shoot these dicks. I'm still in no way an ass, but I will shoot you if you threaten me in any way. Like other people have said, it's Free Mode.
nambr9
im amazed how stupid ppl are. yesterday i was left alone in a free game and some dude shows up right next to me. he imidiatly opens fire on me and kills me. Since respawn was set to near i literaly respawned on his ass and he does it all over again. i figure ... take the steam off on me, while i fix myself something to eat ... and guess what? for like an half of hour all he did was shoot me while i respawn. In the same freakin spot. .... talk about mental illness

I've done it and am ranking/doing petrovich trophy. If you need help, just add me on PSN(saying where we've met, of course... else i'll think it's spam. lol). That way you can minimize the lames in party. And, yes, stuart-88, you are absolutely right... we are whinging about this ever since GTA came out. It's the same in all multiplayer games. Amazing how some people can play a game named "Grand Theft Auto" and still cry when someone else steals their vehicle. And you know if they had the same opportunity they would do the same sh*t. lol
