I guess it will be up to Boris and his ENB series mod to turn this DLC into something approaching how it should look on the PC. If you find those graphics impressive then you really want to stay out of the PC screenshot topic your eyeballs will explode

In-game GTA IV graphics looks better than on pre-release PC screenshots.Same for the EFLC I guess.

Those screenshots look normal to me, nothing special about it. But then again, the screenshots

Rockstar threw at us from the xbox EFLC were pimped to the max compared to what I saw when

I played it.

 

Ah well, just a few weeks to go. Hardly enough time to finish Just Cause 2 cool.gif

So I don't see why anyone should be impressed by these 4 screenshots, they don't appear to have done anything to improve the graphics on the PC.

Why are you even complaining about so called complaining? It's called being a sceptical person and/or not accepting sh*t from everyone without reasoning. I think more people around here should think before they act/say stuff.

 

Anyways: I do see a difference with the EFLC Xbox360 and now the PC screenshots. Though for some reason it doesn't look as sharp as the PC GTAIV screenshots did.

 

Nonetheless, I can't f*cking wait!

Does anyone else not see the big deal in this? The graphics look the same as the 360 version.

I mean, we might as well have assumed what the game was gonna look like.

Its pretty hilarious how R* put up these pics pretending that this is a "new" product.

Oh, true. Anyways, the screenies look ordinary but you can see some minor differences between the PC & X360 version - 1st of all the resolution, 2nd of all - some tweaking has been done to the blur filter.

Still, it looks better than the Xbox360 in my opinion, but NO WHERE near as 'high quality' as GTAIV for the PC was.

 

I hope to see more screenshots so we can see the real quality of the game (and maybe be disappointed big time).

I have a hard time believing those screen shots are done with hi-res textures, I would say they look pretty much exactly like the textures the xbox 360 uses. Now I have a theory as to why this is, we all know that XBL has a maximum file size limit of 2gbs. Now since the DLC is being distributed by GFWL and it is based on XBL it is possible the PC version will only be 2gbs per episode. That could potentially explain the reason why the textures are no better than the console version.

 

I don't think the hi-res textures are part of the DLC and as a knock on effect they won't be a part of the EFLC either.

Good luck making your own game engine which looks how 'it should look like'. Remember, the base content is > 2 years old, and I don't see many other games with this complexity with better performance and effects. wink.gif

I am not going to get into comparisons with other games because it is a no win situation.

I can't comment on how simple it is to do AA and deferred lighting my comment was merely to highlight the fact Dx10 does it and Dx9 doesn't do it. Now Rockstar choose to stick with Dx9 and we are stuck with that decision till such time the next batch of consoles come out even though we are now seeing a shift from most other developers to Dx10/Dx11.

Firstly there is a lot of new content in the DLC, Secondly I am sure they are compressed but then why was the PC version of GTA 4 twice the size of the Xbox 360 version then ? Thirdly this is Microsoft they don't do work arounds they expect companies to do work arounds for them. The 2gb file limit is obviously present within the GFWL system and they won't go out of their way to work around that just for the pc audience.

It will be interesting to see how many discs the EFLC comes on with the PC version, technically speaking the EFLC should come on two discs if it only comes on one then we have to ask ourselves what did Rockstar drop to fit it all on 1 disc.

Over Half the Radio Content: 1.1GB (roughly)

Original Uncompressed TV Stations: 1.76GB

1/3 of Original Mission Speech: 270MB (roughly)

 

So there we have roughly 3.13GB saved, that's not including if they decide to cut back on any Ped Dialogue and the many alternate versions of ambience from the original, and yes I did factor in the replaced stations and new content on top of those, still a 3.13GB (roughly) saving over normal GTA IV.
