We need a General GTA Chat subforum

Soz if there's already a topic for this, I know y'all have prolly heard bout this a million times, but we need one.

It's kinda weird having a radio poll in Announcements, especially as it is last updated before the first sausage war.

Of course there'll be noobs turning it into a "lololol quick vice city question coz lololol im not guna post 2 teh vc forum"-forum but maybe we could try?

So please GTAF, pimp my forum!

The Forums are based on the game therefore really comparing the games as a whole can be done in either General chat or Gaming chat outside of those separate sections.

I understand the argument coming from both sides here, however I think having a General GTA Discussion forum would be good. There are many topics that focus on all GTA games. Topics like these are hard to post because there is no forum pertaining to all GTA's, rather a specific forum for each one. As Cheat mentioned, the Favorite Radio Station Poll is a prime example. It's in the Announcements forum which according to the description is for "This is for announcements made by GTA Network staff, regarding the GTA Network.". A favorite radio station poll is hardly an announcement regarding the network. The staff keep saying no to this idea, just post it in one of the GTA game forums, but is there any reason we can't give it a try? Surely there's no harm in setting up the forum and seeing how it goes. If the forum see's little active, remove it. If it's getting used, keep it.

I don't know if the activity it would get would justify it being there. Most comparing of GTA protagonists seems to go in the newest GTA sub-forum, or the GTA V? section. Being brutally frank I don't see it getting used too much really.

Well I think, since there have probably been more suggestion topics in regards to making one then there are topics in some of the forums for the older GTA games it's pretty fair to say that it would be relatively active.

 

I haven't voiced my opinion on this matter before, but I've always thought that a general forum for GTA would be a good and comparatively fun idea which could only end up being beneficial.

 

Plus I fail to see how experimenting with such a thing for a week or month would cause any harm to the forums. If it doesn't work I feel as if we should have the right to at-least test it. It's fallicous to play judge and jury to an idea before it's been tested for the most part. I mean f*ck, we opened two sections for non GTA games briefly back in the day yet we won't open a general GTA forum? Seems a bit odd, no?

There is no doubt that trials would be good and I fail to see why they can't be done (unless the ACP is as f*cked as everyone says...) I was just stating my opinion on whether or not trials would prove successful or not is all.

Sub-forum including all would definatly bring about BUYG's popularity. This option should be seriously considered in GTAF.

Yeah, I totally agree. I have had many ideas for topics, but I was just kept from posting them, because I really had no idea were I should put it. A General GTA Section is a must on a GTA forum!

Yeah, I really agree that we need a chatroom sub-forum on GTAForums or on GTANet. I think we should have a poll survey and if most votes point to yes, we get a chatroom. But most point to no, we don't get a chatroom.

Admin's do alot of work, and I am not even sure if they can change the forums themselves.

 

Making a new tread and moving all connected topics (BUYG,radio stations etc.) would be alot of work.

 

 

It is needed though, it's really up to the Admin's to decide.

How about you click on the bold text "GTA Series" and it brings you to the general GTA forum?

 

At the top of the page of course there are links to each individual GTA forum.

 

Although, yeah, most of the general GTA topics seem to be going into the V? forum lately.

A good idea to do it. Instead of posting in the VCS forum topics for VC vs. VCS,

Let them post it in a general GTA chat forum.
