Installing car tips are almost like in the vice city, but there`s a new file to add carmods.dat Can anyone explain what means carmods.dat file?I tried to install a car without changing carmods.dat file and the car didn`t crashed in game. Dstrickt Posted March 31, 2010 Share Posted March 31, 2010 Carmods.dat is the file for what parts are available for cars in modding garages. Its in the data folder. (ex. Transfender, Wheel Arch Angels, etc.) Due to that you are new to the game, you probably won't be able to use them until later. They are introduced when you need to mod a lowrider to enter a contest. (I totally forgot the mission name... ) Anyway, when installing cars, it is (sometimes) important to replace lines in the carmods.dat file for the cars to be modded properly at the modding garages. If you don't add it in, the game will work fine until you try to mod the car, which will almost definitely crash the game. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
