PaulNYC
I would love it if they focused even more on the cars than they did in GTA IV, and brought some new ideas to the table. It would be awesome if the vehicles in the game would have blinkers, and you can toggle them with either an L1 or R1 key, or whatever, when you feel like cruising around for fun. Also, when it rains, have the windshield wipers activate, the same way you toggle your headlights on and off with the Square on the PS3. Would be really sick if your character could whip out a key everytime he gets into a car that he owns, or has already broken into (sounds weird, but whatever lol.) Yeah, so GTA IV has alot of realistic elements that go into the design of each individual car, but it wouldn't be surprising to expect more detail from Rockstar upon the up and coming GTA V. As for the traffic, GTA IV certainly has a crapload of glitches. If you cruise around long enough, you'll find that alot of the cars stay on a green light, and move when it turns red. Then there's an accident, lol. Not too many complaints on the traffic other than that, but the cars really do have some impulsive turns and speed control for the most part, and in many parts of the map including highways and freeways that have a traffic light. SmC12
Some good points there. I like the ideas about blinkers, sounds stupid to most people but i think it would add a sense of realism when driving around. (Although in GTA IV i accidently activated the blinkers in a car i was driving, happened more than once in different cars but i have no idea how i did it, i was doing something with the analog sticks though.) The windsheild wipers would also be cool for the same reason as the turn indicators, i thought they would have been included in GTA IV since it rains alot in LC (compared to VC weather, it still rained but not as much) and given the fact that it's on a next gen console it should be capable of adding turn signals/winsheild wipers (come to think of it I've never played a game where these features were included, it could be a first for R*). I think the key thing is a little too far though, although i guess it could be the same idea as when you lock your car and trun off the engine in GTA IV (holding down Y when exiting) so it would just be like an animation for when you do that. And i agree about the traffic problems, some things need to be improved especially on the highways/freeways because i think the speed limit is supposed to be faster on a freeway not slow as hell like it is in IV. Also when you stop on the road, unlike previous GTA's the cars will try to go around you but fail miserabaly and crash right into the back of your Infernus . I have no doubt that the traffic and car realism will be improved in GTA V, I'd like to see what new ideas R* comes up with.
Nova69_7
I don't know about anyone else but I would love it if they got rid of phantom cars just popping up whenever they feel like it! There is nothing more annoying than cruising down the freeway with a clear stretch of road, looking back or to the side for only a second then have a bunch of cars appear right in front of you which you cheerfully crash into! That would be realism just fine if you ask me! OT: Yeah I would like a little bit more realism with the cars. It's as if Niko never worked out how to use his indicators etc. in his car. AnthMUFC-Champs
Blinkers and wipers should be in although they should be activated automatically and traffic needs to be allot more realistic.

I agree, I also found it annoying. Another thing that annoyed me was the fact that the traffic was so slow on the motorways/freeways. Traffic does need to improved in the next game because for me, its little glitches and problems like these that let down what is a fantastic game. The_Mario_Man
I don't really care much for blinkers. If they have them, they should make them automatically turn on to direct you to your destination (Like in Burnout Paradise) Wipers would be nice as well, especially if there was a dashboard camera so you could see the effects of them. I also noticed that cars don't seem to recognize red lights unless they're right in front of them.
Mokrie Dela
I agree with the topic and Nova - the phantom cars were G-A-Y! I'd like the game to have these features - so long as we had control over it. I hated the getaway/Burnout Paradise's "indicate cos you gotta go this way" YEah? I'm turning right cos i don't want to go down that street! I think the rain should splash more on the screen and the wipers would run automatically, and everytime they move it'd clear your screen Also i want headlights to be more funtcional - I play GTA with lower brightness and lower(or higher cant rmmbr which) contrast so the night looks really dark. i don't like the fact that midnight in games looks like someones put shades on. Its supposed to be dark - the headlights should really light the world up, and would add some stunning visual effects. Also I'd like the horn and flashing people (with headlights not your genitals) to do something. Lay on your horn loads and cars should part, or if someone cuts you you, you honk, they pull over and get out, with intent to attack u. Also lockable doors! And seatbelts - like helmets in gta, wait and he'll put one on, cane off immediately and he wont. airbags would be cool too! Traffic AI needs improving though - i ran the charge island toll, then lost the cops at the southern bridge. Relaxed, i drove on lawfully, same speed as the traffic, when a cop ran into me, head on going THE WRONG WAY (Was he a british driver?) and i got a wanted level! Tyler
I liked how the Getaway, used blinkers to show which way to get to your objective.
New Liberty State
Airbags would be an epic way to execute people in crashed cars, when they are incapped, you go to the side window and spare the victim, or perform a cold blooded execution involving suffocating in Nitrogen Gas
mmmfloorpie
I hate it when you look behind you, and then you look ahead of you again and there is a car in front of you that wasn't there a second before... I was really hoping that player turn signals would be included in GTA4, but sadly, it didn't happen. Wipers are a good idea, but they shouldn't be user controllable. They should just go on and off when it rains or when you go through a car wash. I also hope they add more car washes to the next game. It sucked having to go way far out of your way to get your car washed. Usually by the time you got to one, the car was destroyed. If they put more of them on a map, it would encourage people to use them more often. The biggest thing I hope they improve upon is the lights on emergency vehicles. GTA4 was a HUGE leap forward with actually having destroyable emergency lights, and the addition of a 3rd siren was awesome. In GTA5, I hope they add things like emergency lights behind the grills of cars, in the rear windows of cars, and on the backsides of ambulances. Ambulances have NEVER had operational emergency lights in the rear and I think it's about time! They go to so much trouble to animate the emergency lights on the ambulances, but they never make them flash! Police cars in particular have millions of emergency lights on them nowadays and I think GTA5 should reflect that... Gives us white strobes in the headlights, and wig waging hi beams and flashing directional bars and etc! Take a page from Saints Row 2!!!
gtafan113
Yeah I think these are good ideas. I remember when I got GTA IV for PS3, I got so excited seeing other cars using there turn signals (yeah I know, I'm lame like that ) and spent like an hour trying to turn mine on. I also REALLY HATE, how if your stopped at a red light, the cars behind you (usually taxis), try to get around you and crash into you! This really annoyed me and made me not even want to play the game sometimes because it got really frustrating. I really hope they improve on this in GTA V. The cars would overtake you just to sit at the red light - and/or they'd honk like mad! I often get out and smack them stupid! The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. SmC12
Yeah the overtaking really annoyed me as well as the bad AI, and when they overtook you they usually went on the side of the road and ran over a ton of peds before stopping in the middle of a lane and causing traffic coming the other way to crash resulting in a huge roadblock made by one stupid AI ped. I agree that there should be more car washes in the city and i hope in GTA V that your car actually stys clean for longer. In GTA IV it only took about 30mins (real time) before it needed washed again. Also there should be other cars using the car wash like they do in the gas stations. Although don't get me started on bad AI in the Gas stations, i once saw about 6 cars trying to get into it at the one time, the taxi at the front tried to reverse stupidly in the wrong direction, hit the gas pump and blew about 3 cars up, and amazingly the taxi driver got out of the burning wreck and walked off. I like the idea about better lights on emergency vehicles. I like the modern light bars and grille lights etc. you get on some police cars. I hope there is an improvement on emergency AI in GTA V, especially ambulances, were they supposed to be drunk in GTA IV or something?, their driving was terrible. I feel sorry for the ped lying there after they spent about 10 mins reversing into a brick wall beofre finally getting to the scene and running over the ped themselves and driving off. And i think if modders can add custom lightbars and sounds to vehicles in GTA IV PC then R* developers should definately be able to do it. GTA IV was great but the traffic does need a major improvement, it really ruined the experience for me sometimes. n11lc2
keep in mind calculations from traffic takes processing power, i don't think we'll achieve truly realistic traffic in this console generation seeing as its already pushing the 360 to its limit
PaulNYC
Well, it's hard to even think bout the 360 in this case. i'm all about Sony, and its processing power shouldn't even be in question as to what it can accomplish. I guess microsoft better come out with something new to keep up.
andym07home
I like the idea of the indicataors, it would be good if other cars responded to you using them (e.g. slowing down to let you change lanes), I would have great fun having the left indicator on then going right at the last minute. I would love to see windscreen wipers if we ever get a dashboard view.

More things can be added now. They're got much more knowledge of next-gen consoles, especially after RDR.
