Pico
Horribly wrong, to be precise. RX7 owner: Hey TDC, put an LS6 in my car. TDC: Ok, $14,000. TDC smashes in an LS1 with LS6 fuel rail into said RX7 with poor modifications and retard-like precision and craftmanship. TDC is butthurt and losing money and gaining a poor reputation. http://www.v8rx7forum.com/showthread.php?5...no-no!!!

dog_day_sunrise
You'd be saddened by how often this kind of thing happens- and often worse. A well known Audi tuner here in the UK would offer to do big turbo builds and other major work for customers, and then sold off their cars for parts. And Hennessy is well known for doing poor work for very large sums of money.
MindCorrupt
Thats what you get when you pour large sums of money into cars with a workshop you havent heard of nor seen work from.

There's nothing to worry about admins/mods, the email you might recieve will be worded in a way that makes you exempt anyway!

It's someone's personal experience posted in the public domain, and in order for it to be libelous he would need to prove that it was in fact completely untrue. Freedom of speech FTMFW! Oh yeah, I know that. The OcUK forum owners knows it too. Considering there's only one link to a thread that's been pulled on OcUK and the specific car owner hasn't posted on there, OcUK got this email: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost....72&postcount=92 Comes across very badly! I'm lucky I have a nearby guy who's very trustworthy and approachable. He might do all the work that most would but that's becasue spinning too many plates is bad for customer service. dog_day_sunrise
I'm both shocked and saddened at that post. I've had personal dealings with Thorney Motorsport, as have many of my good friends (including a mate whose spent well over £10k with them), and I have nothing but positive things to say about the quality of their work from my experience. I'm astonished that the owner of such a well-known and well-respected company would need to stoop to such a level to defend his reputation- I count amongst my close friends at least 4 happy customers including myself. Is nothing sacred in modern Britain?

Is nothing sacred in modern Britain? Apparently not. You only need to go through that OcUK thread to read about more horrors though, and posts on forums from the man himself a few years back asking about various bits of tuning you'd expect an expert to know. To me it looks like he relied on a good team to do the work, the economy has bitten, experienced staff have left and the plates are toppling. It's a sad situation that could have been handled much better. I doubt if I'll know the feeling of throwing 10k+ at a tuner and handing over my keys, but I can only image the feeling of owners who get back a less than average service and a car that you wouldn't want to drive again. Sad times indeed.
