I'm going with Terminator 2, simply because I hate Bale's Batman's ass voice. Not that Dark Knight was a bad movie, just that's the only thing I don't like when I look at either one of these movies.

Love the Dark Knight. So I will vote for that, if it had been the first Terminator then I may have been swayed a little.

Why?

Posting a poll comparing two completely different movies is ass. At least tell people why you are making this comparison.

Terminator 2 was a much more intense, genuinely scary at times, film --- Dark Knight never made me feel that anxiety. So I think Terminator 2 is the better of the 2 options.

While I absolutely love Terminator 2, I've got to go with The Dark Knight. Probably because I'm a huge Batman nerd and both The Dark Knight and Batman Begins were top notch in just about every category.

But, this is a pretty stupid poll. They are both two completely different movies/franchises. One involves time travel, robots and protecting John Connor. The other one involves a vigilante fighting criminals and saving Gotham City at night. I did vote for The Dark Knight though because it's one of my all time favorite movies. A lot of people will say "Oh, it's overrated because Heath Ledger's in it", etc., but he really transformed the Joker into someone so twisted, maniacal and realistic that I never thought was possible for that particular character. Whenever I thought of the Joker I pictured the goofy, yet still awesome portrayal by Jack Nicholson, the Mark Hamill voiced Joker from the cartoon and the Joker from The Killing Joke comic. Each Joker before Heath's had something happen to his face that made it white or something, and he always had short hair. Heath's Joker just used makeup and the defect on his face was the Glasgow Smile he has from a knife, plus he had shaggy, greasy hair. And I think the gravelly voice Wayne speaks with when he is Batman is necessary, because when he puts the suit on, he's not just Bruce Wayne hiding behind a mask, he's actually transformed if you will into Batman. Plus if he used his normal voice while in the suit, people could start putting two and two together when they compare it to Bruce Wayne's voice. Like Harvey Dent for instance.

Anyway, enough of my Batman fanboyism. I think a better poll would be which James Cameron movie do you think is the best: The Terminator, Aliens, The Abyss, Terminator 2, True Lies, Titanic or Avatar? Not a comparison, just what you personally enjoyed the most. I'd go with Aliens on that one.

Terminator 2 wins for me.

I've loved that film since I was really young and I'm a big fan of the series (even 3 and Salvation tounge2.gif).

I'm also a huge James Cameron fan although I'm yet to see Avatar.

The Dark Knight just didn't cut it for me anyways - good film but meh.

I go with The Dark Knight. I just like it more. Didn't like Batman's voice tho. nervous.gif

But I agree with Vanilla Shake on this one. Why are you comparing completely different movies? It's just stupid.

You should have put, 'Which is the better sequel' in the description.

Tough, my still-hard boner for DK kinda makes the choice for me. Love T2 though, like, a lot. A whole lot.

I still can't see what makes TDK so goddamn good.

Ledger licked himself a bit and they flipped a car, big deal. I still think BB was better.

+1.

Terminator 2 is a stand-out in the action genre, still effective as ever nearly 20 years later. I just didn't understand why The Dark Knight made so many little dickies wet. I suspect all the people who were so blown away by TDK were also really enamored of 300, a mindless movie that makes anyone under the age of 35 with a sub-normal IQ want to pound their chest and eat raw meat.

It's thought to be the best superhero film to date. Yes, I consider Bman a 'super'hero.

And lots of people love superhero movies, so naturally lots of people loved what many consider to be the best thus far. So dickies got wet. Oh, and it was entertaining as sh*t. But I guess that's beside the point. Oh no its not.

Eh, as far as superhero flicks go I'd trade TDK for Watchmen any old day of the week.

I didn't like 300 and I'm 18. I just loved The Dark Knight. Some people didn't, and that's fine and dandy, but I still consider it to be one of the greatest films of all time, or at least the greatest comic book based movie.

Regardless, this is still a f*cking stupid poll. They are two completely different movies. All this poll is doing is bringing all of the Terminator and Batman fanboys out of the woodwork and proclaiming their orgasmic love for one or the other.

I've loved Terminator 2 since I was a little kid, but I personally enjoyed The Dark Knight much more. That's my simple answer. The one I enjoyed the most gets my vote. I don't question why people love Terminator 2 more. It all boils down to personal opinion.

Yet you claim TDK is for people who liked 300? There are more comparisons to be made between 300 and Watchmen, what with them having the same director and all.

Watchmen succeeded not because the director had some original vision that only Zak Snyder is capable of, but because it was faithful to the source material, which just so happens to be one of the great graphic novels of all time.

Both movies are very good. In addition, I believe that both of them are two of the best sequels to any film franchise. To me, the only other sequel that is in the same ball park as said films is Empire Strikes Back. Finally, to answer your question: The Dark Knight.

Damn, I cried like a baby when I watched T2 the first time. I was a kid and that was some sad sh*t. In my opinion Terminator 2 is a perfect action movie. There is nothing, absolutely nothing that I don't like and nothing I wold add to it. Can't cay the same for The Dark Knight even though I love that movie too.

Question: Why is it that people didn't like Batman Begins? I think it was awesome and Liam Neeson is the man!

I think I like Batman Begins more than The Dark Knight to be honest, though I'm guess I'm in the minority on that.

Best superhero film ever? I still have a soft spot for the first Superman film smile.gif

That still doesn't help the fact that it was an over-indulgent (see: Zach Snyder's "original vision") hyper-chroma meh-fest (ohlook!blueglowstickpenisblueglowstickpenisblueglowstickpenisblueglowstickpenisblueglowstickpenis). I was super disappointed in it, considering all of the hype it got. B-B-BUT..BUTTT DUDE THIS IS BASED ON TEH BEST GRAFIX NOVEL EVUR THAT MEENS ITS GOOD MY DEFAULT!!!!

Just face it - Alan Moore books never translate to film well. Watchmen was the most ambitious and most successful one to date, but sh*t, still. There will never be any director and film crew that could squeeze in that much depth into 3 hours. NEVER. And speaking of lack of depth, it's absolutely baffling to say that 300 and TDK were at all closer in comparison than 300 and Watchmen. I must be drunk, cuz i dun git it. But sure, keep making base, sweeping generalizations just because you didn't like it - or just because too many other people liked it - whichever is more applicable.

f*ck, Porky's 2 was the greatest sequel known of all history of film of all time.

I get where you're coming from, and admittedly the comparison was made in jest--my real point, which you touched on, was to illustrate how TDK is overrated which I consider 300 to be as well, not necessarily comparing the two films in terms of actual substance--in which case I would have to say TDK is clearly superior to 300.

I f*cking love BB! And yeah, Liam Neeson was great in it. Cillian Murphy was cool too.

I don't care what anyone says, The Dark Knight ruled. No, not because of just Heath Ledger, but because it was an all around great film and possibly the end of Christopher Nolan's Batman flicks. It had the perfect ending and I can't see the film being topped by another sequel. The Joker is Batman's ultimate villain. If they were to make a sequel where the main villain was the Penguin or something, there's no way it could be as great as TDK. They already used his arch nemesis, and while there may be a sh*tload of other villains that could be used, none of them could top the Joker.

And yeah, Porky's II f*cking ruled.
