Does GTA IV support GameBOOST?

Most of you know about gameboost. A software that boosts game performance. But, I haven't tried it yet. You've to buy it and it's quite expensive. So, anyone tried it? Does it improve frames?

My current computer configuration is:

Intel Core2Duo E7500 2.93GHZ

2GB(1GB+1GB) DDR2 667 RAM

ATI Radeon HD 4770 512MB GDDR5 128-BIT

XFX XG31 Motherboard

17" inch Monitor

I'm not satisfied with the framerate. I get about 35~40 frames average. Sometimes, it drops down to 5-15 sad.gif

1280*1024 Resolution.

Memory Usage: 485MB Out of 512MB.

Btw, Texture Detail 'High' does not comes up. Any idea why it doesn't shows?

Thanks.

I know of Gameboost. It's supported by any program because all it does is lower some system resources by temporarily disabling some services that are unnecessary when playing a game. Chances are, it works on most computers, but not much.

Also, the option 'High' on the game's texture settings do not show up because GTA IV believes that it is too much for your computer to handle based on your graphics card amount of memory. I think you can re-enable it by creating a text file named, "commandline" (without the quotes, and adding this to it:

-norestrictions

It's all listed in this topic (a must read):

And while you're at it, you better take a peek at this topic, also (in-case you expierience stuttering):

I'm still not sure if, "(1Gig+ Video Cards)" is what is required for it to work, or if it is what kind of graphics card Rockstar Games Toronto thinks you have. Either way, give it a try, it won't hurt.

Weirdo, all your first link does is the same as clicking the 'add reply' button. Did you crossover your cmds?

Whoops, it's fixed now. Thanks for pointing that out.

Sounds like AMD Fusion.

i must say for your system and lack of ram, you get decent fps. i am unsure gameboost or anything like it will help all too much, that may require some additional hardware. but give it a try and the worst that could happen is it doesnt help much.
