New weapon set

I got to thinking what would i really like to see in the next gta? Well i have come up with a new weapon set. This weapon set would contain stealth type weapons. these weapons would mainly be effictive from very close range, but would reduce the chance of police catching you (only time you get caught using these would be if the cop is looking right at you).

Weapon List

Knife (no longer part of "melee" set)

rope (strangle)

needle with poison

feel free to suggest more weapons and comment if you like it

What about this

Chainsaw, a weapon you pick up from a unique tree, the only place to find the chainsaw, doesn´t take any category, but it is functional, with the press of the attack button you turn on the Chainsaw and you start what you love to do with the Chainsaw, it is gas-powered, obviously it will run out, and when you switch weapons, the character will drop the chainsaw to the floor, like on Dead Rising

Pipe tube: another pick up weapon that you will drop when switching to everyday guns, you impale a person with this and he

/she will urinate blood from the pipe, also a Dead Rising feature

Don´t call me sadistic, you guys have played Manhunt

I didn't play manhunt, and if I wanted to use these weapons I would.

It would be cool if you could pick up more random things in the street and use though.

Since GTA seems to be leaning more towards realism, I would like to see a more realistic variety of weaponry. I didn't like IV's limited inventory at first, but it grew on me.

A simple steel pipe would be cool though, with a nice hollow 'woosh' when you swing it.

To much realism in a game is bad though confused.gif

Which is exactly why I want the minigun and flamethrower back. They were really awesome weapons

I'd like to see most of the DLC weaponry in V to. Especially the Assualt shotgun, that was a awesome gun. Finally gave me a reason to use the shotgun cool.gif

Well, I'm not talking about total realism, I just think carrying around a Gatling would feel a bit out of place in something like GTA IV.

If they revert V back to the III era style then it would be great.

Yeah a gatling gun would be to much lol. Would be ownage though wink.gif

I hope they switch it back to the III era to, but i doubt it. I at least hope they bring back some weapons from that Era like the ones i said above^

f*ck REALISM

I want flamethrowers and miniguns and samurai swords and throwing knives and a hatchet and cheese wire and sledge hammers and cattle prods and one off flip out pistols and bricks and bolt guns and more use of surroudings ie the ability to slam people against walls or off bridges or through windows or into traffic or down stairs. the ability to repeatedly slam the car door on some ones head or trap their head in the window n drive off. bottles, ashtrays, pool cues, tables, chairs, duke box... in bars. bowling bowls at the bowling alley. dust bins, against parking meters, phone boxes, cars, shop windows...etc on the street.

not a bad idea, finding a wooden plank at a construction site and using that to hit people, finding a hockey stick at a rink... not bad at all

Nearly anything should be a melee weapon, just not over the top sh*t like swinging a TV fast and repeatedly or picking up street signs.

As for actual weapons a lock-on rocket launcher is a must, just make it so skilled pilots/drivers can dodge them to a degree.

I like the whole idea of weapons you can pick up off the side of the street, and are dropped when you switch categories.

They would consist of:

-bricks

-2x4's

-metal pipes

-fence posts

-monkey wrenches

etc.

It would also be neat if they deteriorated with use. This would help when you get in a fight with one person and it quickly turns into a 5vs1.

As for silent weapons, a rope and a needle would be a little off. I think if you kill someone in public with a knife you can possibly get a wanted level, but if you do it without people around you will never get a star.

I wouldn't mind if they had a metal baseball bat as well as a wooden one as well, I mean, I could imagine one being stronger than the other.

I would only want deteriorating weapons if it made sense. A golf club bending with repeated use would be fine, but if wrench manages to shatter after a few swings would just be silly.

That's what I meant. A wooden object would eventually begin to crack if you repeatedly hit someone with it, bricks might get some chipping, metal pipes would bend slightly. It would also be a good use of the Euphoria engine.

I'd like to see:

Garrotes: A knife replacement, used for stealth kills, in a fight it can be used to grapple and follow up with knees as you cut/strangle them.

Bayonets: Used by the army if they appear and top professional killers. You go in for a gun disarm (a must have at higher levels of GTA in my opinion, for escaping abductions by death squads, etc) or to stab them and they fight back with gun butts and a bayonet.

Les lethal: used by death squads/retrieval teams to abduct you, SWAT/Police and such. These could include:

Flash bangs

: a flash temporarily blinds you, making it impossible to lock on and your accuracy deterioarates.

Taser:

Next to no range, but needs no amo, silent. Brief recharge period. When the enemy wants to kidnap you for interrogation, you want to do the same, etc. Like the one in 24 the game. (i just lost THE GAME)

A battery drill: ammo, but grapple them and in goes the drill, out comes the blood.

I personally just like to see a more varied use to the melee weapons. Who says you have to use a night stick to club people with? Why can't we use it to defend against knife or other melee attacks with only the ability to wind your enemy as an attack (before switching it round to smack em round the face that is)...or to be able to suffocate people by pinning them up against the wall with it...

The problem I've always had with the same is the limited set of moves we can pull off. Sure, this isn't bloody Tekken or Soul Calibur but my word the fighting mini game in TBoGT got boring after the first fight..

Well vice city had a chainsaw, flame thrower, minugun, katana that could slash peoples head off, so why not bring back those? would be awesome

I don't know, fuel could probably work if they managed to do it right. I recall there being a San Andreas mod that added gas to vehicles. It was done pretty well, and with some cars you could drive almost all of the way across the city before having to refuel. I rarely ever ran out when something important was happening, and to refuel you just parked in the gas station for a few seconds.

It could also add some interesting mechanics, such as fuel leaks if the car is damaged enough.

But I think we've gone off topic.

I think an important part of how the weapons work would be how they sound and feel. The Battlefield: Bad Company games manage to do this right, with gunshots that echo differently depending on where you are. I think I've said this before, but most of San Andreas' weapons sounded horrible. Some controller rumble would work as well.

Imagine a violent burst of rumble when you smack somebody with a bat, or open up with an assault rifle.

These are what I'm thinking of:

Hand:

Fist

Brass Knuckles (remain functional when characters performing martial arts)

Melee: (More than single application; i.e.:suffocating people by pinning them up against the wall with)

Baseball Bat

Cane

Chainsaw

Golf Club - bending with repeated use

Hammer

Knife / K-bar (w/ stealth attack ability)

Katana

Machete

Metal chain

Metal Pipe - bending with repeated use

Night Stick (Police issue)

Pool Cue

Shovel

+ Anything the character can grab and fight with; e.g.: Wooden plank, chair, spanner...

Non-firearm Projectiles:

Compound Bow

Modern Crossbow

Nail Gun

Paintball gun (w/ stimulating ink rounds, effect similar to Pepper Spray)

Pepper Spray (Police issue)

Taser Gun (Police issue, stunning for too long would cause target catching on fire)

Throwing Knife

+ Anything the character can grab and throw; e.g.: soda can, wine bottle, burger, fork...

Heavy-Duty:

Flame Thrower

RPG

Vehicle Lock-on Missile Launcher (can be dodged by skilled pilots/drivers)

Heavy Machine Gun / Gatling Gun - mounted on vehicles or buildings

Automatic Grenade Launcher - mounted on vehicles or buildings

Throw:

Grenade

Molotov Cocktail

Sticky Grenade (no more 'bounce')

Pipe Bomb

C4 (Detonate only under command)

Claymore

Tear Gas

Stun Grenade (strong flash & loud blast for temporally neutralization by attacking sight w/ disturbing the fluid in ear)

Other:

Binoculars

Camera

Fire Extinguisher

Night/Thermal Vision Goggles

Umbrella

Firearms:

Having accessories / attachments that enable weapons customization would be essential.

Example:

Pistol Slot:

- Ordinary variant x2 (extra attachments: Flashlight, Laser pointer, Sliencer)

- Magnum Revolver variant x1

- Large Caliber Magnum variant x2; e.g.: AMT Automag .44 & Desert Eagle (extra attachments: Flashlight, Laser pointer)

- M249 / M240 (extra attachment: Scope)

Sniper Rifles Slot:

- Bolt Action variant x2 (extra attachments: Sliencer)

- Semi-automatic variant x2 (extra attachments: Expolsive Rounds, Sliencer)

It needs to have a true M4A1 with or without a silencer for the stealth kills.

The GTA IV M4 was bullsh*t.

f*cking HK416.

Smith and Wesson Model 29. If I had that I'd be happy as a pig in sh*t.

But also: A flamethrower (one that sprays a jet of napalm), a minigun, an M60, a grenade launcher, a chainsaw, a power drill, a sledgehammer. a crowbar, a fire axe and any other badass weapons beyond the standard 9mm/SMG/Shotgun/M4

I want to see a weapon system like this.

Small Melee(conceal one under clothes):

pocket knife

combat knife

ASP Baton

stun gun

etc

Large Melee(have to be stored in something or stored in trunk but can be found almost anywhere lying on the ground):

machete

baseball bat

sledgehammer

chainsaw

etc

Small Arms(conceal two under clothes):

taser

Glock 17(Pistol)

Colt Anaconda(Revolver)

Desert Eagle(Combat Pistol)

Micro UZI(Machine Pistol)

Lupara(Sawn-Off)

Large Arms(have to be concealed in something(bags can be subject to search though in certain areas, example being government buildings) or they will attract attention but can be stored in trunk and carried on back if necessary):

Winchester 1300(Shotgun)

Benelli M4 Super 90(Combat Shotgun)

Remington 700(Sniper Rifle)

PSG-1(Combat Sniper)

MP5(SMG)

AK-47(Assault Rifle)

HK416(Carbine Rifle)

Thrown(only one):

pipe bomb x3

Molotov Cocktail x3

remote bomb x1

throwing knives(maybe?)

The whole feeling of holy f*cking sh*t automatic explosive shotgun really died when the gameplay got monotonous with shoot , shoot, boom and repeat. Some tactics would add more depth to the gunplay.
