malware at forums?

ive been coming to gta forums for many years . Was wondering, i now get this warning when i come here Is there a moderator that can advise on this please

Someone , somewhere on GTAForums may have posted a dangerous link or something (like a direct download link for a virus) and maybe, somehow the Google Browser is picking it up?

 

Just a theory, I dunno man it's weird for it to say that.

It's probably malware on you're computer, don't click any links it gives you as they probably lead to infected sites.

 

I suggest running a scan using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and see if it comes up with anything.

A page on GTAForums probably contains an image from a website infected with Malware. As a safety precaution, Chrome advises you not to visit the site (in this case GTAF) because that image or content may be the thing that contains the malware. I have got this message twice before, and I had no virus. I simply found that a user posted a link to an image hosted on a website that once contained malware

A security vulnerability was found on not only Windows 7 Forums, but many high profile websites using community software such as vBulletin, WordPress, and other software. The origin of this attack is unknown, but it apparently redirects the user, when searching on Google, to file2store.info website.

 

This is a spam site.

Many other sites are having similar issues. It's advise to clear browser cache, delete temporary INTERNET files and delete cookies. Run Hijack this and some type of Malware software. It doesn't effect the site(s) directly but only the users. Just a heads up!

I agree with King; I just had a Malware called Security tool on my PC. I used a program called Spyware Doctor. It may help you with this.

Have you tried testing it on another browser-ie. Internet Explorer(IE) 7 or 8, Safari, etc? and see if the message persists. I have used IE 6, 7, an 8 as well as Google Chrome and Safari and not had any problems. If you get the message with Firefox or Chrome, then why not just use the default internet browser that comes with Windows(that is Internet Explorer).?-if that one does not give the message. Otherwise, it might be a problem with your PC. Just a heads up.
