DarkHedge
I couldn't find, honestly, a similar thread so I post this thread. If I failed at searching, tell me now. My problem: I can play GTA San Andreas fine in 640x480 or 800x600 in either 16 or 32 bit. But I'll admit those two rez'es are crappy. Some mods show incorrectly. However, when I try to set the resolution to anything higher than 800x600 (and I say: anything), the game crashes. No, setting the gta_sa.exe compatibility to whatever else doesn't work. No, deleting the SET file doesn't work. I run this on a 2.4 GHz Pentium 4, 96 MB integrated graphics card, 1024 MB RAM computer and I use Windows XP Service Pack 3. I tried running other games at a similar resolution: it works. It's a problem that looks exclusive to GTA SA. So, what can I do? NTAuthority
I run this on a 2.4 GHz Pentium 4, 96 MB integrated graphics card, 1024 MB RAM computer and I use Windows XP Service Pack 3. That's the issue, likely your integrated GPU is not powerful enough to do this. I tried running other games at a similar resolution: it works. It's a problem that looks exclusive to GTA SA. Are these other games possibly less demanding than SA? Inactive in GTA/R* title modification indefinitely pursuant to a court order obtained by TTWO. Good job acting against modding! DarkHedge
I dunno. An example is NASCAR Racing 2003 - another game that spawned a few mods locally popular - which is a game that originally asked for 128 MB minimum. I can run it, although with low framerate, but can run in 1024x768x32, and even tried higher to my natrural screen rez: 1280x1024x32. It's maybe very slow but it doesn't crash outright. I also noticed that other games - less demanding maybe work on 1024x768: Half-Life and CS 1.6 both run fine in 32 bit. But you are right, my computer sucks anyway...
