GentlemanSquid
Does anybody know how to set widescreen and HD for fraps? I was planning on recording footage for a video walkthrough but every time i record its not in widescreen. I have a widescreen laptop with a good video card. The laptop is also HD. edit: my resolution is 1366x768 I though i put this in the gaming chat as it the most likely to get answered here. Edmachine
Doesn't FRAPS record in 1366x768? Have you checked all the settings that have anything to do with resolution? I've never used FRAPS, so I don't know where you could check, though. If you set it record at Full Screen, it theoretically should record at 1366x768... GentlemanSquid
Fraps does record 1366x768 but not in widescreen. I have only tested this in San Andreas though. Do you know of another program? edit: tried it in modern warfare still records at 4:3 Edited March 27, 2010 by gta_talk
Edmachine
Well, based on some Googling, 1366x768 is a 16:9 aspect ratio, which means, it's widescreen. Stupid question, but perhaps you have it set to a different resolution in San Andreas? XFire has a video recored, and is also a great in-game tool for, well, a lot of things. Like, you can browse the web without ALT+TABing, chatting with XFire friends. You can also set it to show the time, FPS, even control your music player. Another one, I think was GameCam or something. I haven't used it, though. There surely must be an option to change the aspect ratio it records in. Look for one. GentlemanSquid
There must be a way in fraps. I have tried changing my screen resolution but no luck. it is possible, just found this on youtube , a slightly better video card than me but the same resolution. GentlemanSquid
Kinda fixed it. I think I found out what the problem is/was. In game you can set the screen resolution, i set it to a resolution smaller than my screen, although I have fixed it into going widescreen, I still have a problem of the 2 black bars, one at the top and one at the bottom. Is there a patch i can download so the game can have the same resolution as my screen? edit: heres my channel with a few videos of what i talking about. http://www.youtube.com/user/RepulsivePictures
Edmachine
Is it possible to set FRAPS to record at a smaller/different resolution? Try setting your display resolution to the one you're using in-game now. (Right Click on Desktop -> Properties -> Settings) I don't know if it will work, though, just blind guessing. GentlemanSquid
I tried to that but no luck. The black lines are not there when i watch the file straight from recording, but when i put it in an editor like Sony Vegas the lines appear, so i dont know if the player has taken them away, or if sony vegas is adding them.
