Will the GTA IV multiplayer servers be deserted?

When Episodes from Liberty City is released, do you think that Grand Theft Auto IV (a.k.a. "Vanilla") multiplayer be completely abandoned in favour of new the multiplayer in The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony?

Hey everyone, I pre-ordered a copy of Episodes from Liberty City last Saturday at EB Games after selling off some old Sony PlayStation 2 games (with the exception of my precious Grand Theft Autos).

I then went on to play some multiplayer on IV, mostly GTA Race and the team co-op campaigns.

It suddenly struck me that after playing through those campaigns hundreds of times and with the new content coming out, I might never return to the multiplayer of regular Grand Theft Auto IV.

And then I got to thinking of which game I would play first, TLAD or TBOGT?

Both are sure to have lots of replay value, but in the end I figured that it would be more rewarding to play through The Lost and Damned multiplayer first as I have always salivated at the thought of trying out the cool new biker modes such as Club Business, Lone Wolf Biker, Witness Protection, and even Chopper vs. Chopper.

Anyway, my point is that multiplayer servers for the The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony are bound to be packed for months after the initial release but what of Grand Theft Auto IV?

Will the multiplayer be a shell of its former self, or will it still be as strong as it was during the time of pre-EFLC?

Actually, I'm sure there are many people playing GTA IV that don't even know about EFLC (that it's coming to PS3 and PC anyways). Also, you'll have people who will play GTA IV online again after they played EFLC online for a while. My reasons for this is that TLAD multiplayer may be pretty much dead (even though it has new modes), and TBOGT lacks multiplayer modes. You'll also have individuals that actually want to play co-op games also.

Anyways, are there any good game modes on TLAD for ranking up?

No i dont think so

Some peoples DAD dont let them buy it

so they have to play IV all by them selvs

and talk to them selves on the mic mercie_blink.gif

and have races with them selvs

and hangman noose by them selve and lose every time

and tdm by them selvs

That i why i think there will still be some people play IV suicidal.gif

IMO--

From what I read there are some new game modes but not a whole lot in the new content so it will likely drop for a while... and there will likely be some "dilution" of the player pool and also with the new preference filter there will be some apparent lower activity online just from that-- unless you don't set restrictive preferences.

The new content my spur additional sales of IV though-- so you never know how it will be affected-- it will obviously drop initially just because it is new and I imagine many of us will be playing through the new stories at first and not be playing multiplayer as much.

It would have been nice to just add the new content mulitplayer to the original multiplayer so you could all be in the same player pool and not have to switch disks or exit/load games to switch from one to the other-- you could also get invites from your friends or what not... I do recall the xbox players complaining of player pool dilution after each of the episodes was released.
