13 for Europe Dwellers sad.gif (Like me)

I know! It's like were being punished coz of Sony Europe!!! How come it was gunna be released same day before but now were gettin it 3 days later?! If its coz of some European [email protected] in a suit at Sony having a wobbler about some of the content then that just isn't on!!!

Sony has nothing to do with the European release date being 3 days later than the US release date. If you check you will see that the 16th April is a Friday and for some bizarre reason most games in the UK/Europe always get released on a Friday. This is not just unique to Rockstar, the same happened with ME 2 and Just Cause 2. If you check most release schedules you will find the Euro release is nearly always 3 days after the US version.

Not that it is fair but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

What do you think about shipping the game? When it will be? Are any chance to have an EFLC at 13th April in Poland from pre-order?

I'm confused GAME and Eb have different release dates?

What's the release date for them?

I'm pretty sure it's $69.95 in Australia coz thats how much the Xbox 360 version costed

The PS3 version is $10 more over here ($49.99). I don't know why but that's a fact.

Aussie's. Buy from Play-Asia. Cheaper, and you get it earlier.

From what I can see most places are selling EFLC for £24.99 on the PS3 and £14.99 for the PC. Now before the PS3 users start screaming about the PC price you have to remember there are no royalty fees on the PC (the ten pounds extra you pay goes straight to Sony) and the PC version will be on a bog standard DVD as opposed to a blu-ray disc which is still more expensive than DVD's.

@ charming charlie if you hate the PC version of it so much for whatever reasons just buy the 360 versions,. then again they'll all be the same

Just to clear up a misconception the PC version is also free to play on line. There is no subscription fee for the Games For Windows Live Network.

When Microsoft first launched GFWL there was a subscription fee. This naturally led to most PC users not touching it with a barge pole, why would PC users pay for something they have been getting free for nearly a decade ? Anyway to cut a long story short they ditched the subscription fee about 6 months before GTA 4 came out and since then all GFWL MP titles have been free to play using the Network.

If there was a fee, I wouldn't be playing their game. Microsoft gets enough money from the 360 + they don't own the rights for the PC.

Well yes I agree that normally we get most games 2-3 days after everywhere else does but EfLC was originally due out the same day everywhere am I not wrong? That would have been last tuesday...which is out of the norm for a release in the UK and the rest of Europe as yes it's usually friday.

I'm just at a loss as to why it was originally out everywhere on the same day but since Sony Europe's [email protected] over some minor content we now have to wait 3 extra days for it...

The only two explanations I can think of for the original 30th March World wide release dare are :-

  • It was a mistake and the date was 30th March for US and 2nd April for the rest of the world. Just Rockstar never got round to correcting the mistake and it became irrelevant when the delay hit.
  • The 2nd April is actually "Good Friday" a religious and in some Euro countries an official holiday so it would seem a bit "bad taste" to release something like EFLC on such a significant day.
That is the best I can come up with, at the end of the day it isn't fair to stagger these releases. In this day and age I find it amazing that such a hi-tech industry like the software industry cannot manage to pull off a simultaneous world wide release.

Yeah, $69.95 is the Aussie price. However, K-Mart has advertised it in their catalogue for $54 - I wonder if EB will match it.

Also, don't write off April 13th as an Australian release date, in recent times it's become quite common practice for Aussie games to be released on a Tuesday. I'm not saying we'll definitely be getting it Tuesday, but it's possible.

Maybe because stores get their shipments in that day or Monday. BigW gets theirs in on a Thursday.

Well, I buy most of my games from EB (because of their awesome return policy) and they often get games in on Tuesdays.

tj11 this might interest you... I work at an EB in melb, and we get deliveries EVERY DAY. Something to note is that EFLC does not have a street date attached to it, so the second it arrives in a package, it'll be on the shelf within minutes. I've been hoping for a while now that the warehouse 'didn't get the message' of the delay and sent out the boxes anyway, but given it's now the 6th with no sign of it I don't think that's happened. For the moment, it's all up to the distribution centers to determine when EFLC gets released. So in any case, it may come a day or so earlier (or later) depending when the box gets in to your particular store.

I KNEW IT!! lol

Hey, you could be the official bearer of good news. I'm guessing (or rather, hoping) that EFLC will come out a day or so early. Will you let us know if it does? Much love if you do. inlove.gif

They will because people will just buy it from them instead. Funnily enough in that catalog it advertised it as March 31 so I called Eb up and they went mad and called THEM biggrin.gif
