GTA I4 Liberty City

Hey Everyone,

Here's my problem maybe someone might be able to help. Everytime I load GTA I4 and start to play It freezes or I get a black screen when I try to alt tab out. I recently installed a new radeon 5850 with the latest 10-2 drivers. I'm currently running xp 32. I seem to only have this problem with GTA. And no other applications. I play Doom3 Bf2, and Project Reality Mod with Win 7 64 bit on a seperate velociraptor drive. And I dont experience any problems. I recently patched GTA with the 1.0.0.4 patch. And no change. Although the benchmark in GTA gives me 57fps and runs fine. Here are my specs:

 

 

ASUS M4A79 Deluxe mobo

AMD Phenon II X4 965 3.4 with Zalman 9700 led

XFX Radeon 5750 1gig

4gb crucial ballistic tracer 1066

WD 150gig velociraptor sata 3.0 with Win7 64 bit

WD 74gig raptor sata 1.5 with XP 32 (running GTA I4)

Antec 850 True quad PS

(Newest updated bios for mobo)

First, This is the LCS section(a game that is only available on the PS2 and PSP platform), I think you want the GTA IV section above. Please post there, and double check what forum you are in to make sure you are in the right section when posting next time. Just a heads up.

 

As for the problem, make sure you have the latest patch installed, as well as all up to date drivers for you Video Card, Sound card, DX, etc. Also, try setting all settings to the lowest possible setting and see if that helps...
