Legacy-666_
Hi there, just wondering how many of you play using headsets. I own one and usually have it on at the start of the match,if theres not much worth listening to I'll switch off(50% because it runs on 1aaa battery and 50% because if theres no-one to talk to I'd rather play without it). Its great to be able to chat with other players and friends, quicker than typing a messege. Let me know your opinions or good storys .
ikt
I have one, I use one, but i don't speak much. I just like to hear what the others have to say.
Legacy-666_
do you listen to figure out who to target and then just go after them, listening to them chattn to their friends about you when you kill him a few times is classic. not many on my friends list have headsets. steve_blue5
i rarely use my headset because its either moany kids or people who swear at me. but i suppose i should use it more often, waste of money otherwise
freeform mixer
Yeah I use a headset. Dont need batteries tho. Just recharges. When I first got it was surprised by all the trash talking and bullsh*t that goes on. Cop a fair bit of sh*t for being an Aussie too. Hey vegemite, and all this sh*t! Now I give as good as I get it. Also those voice changers give me the sh*ts. Must sound like a pussy in real life if you need one of those!

Captain_Obvis456
I have actually been playing on xbox lately because I have one for my xbox. I think every xbox comes with a headset so most people have them too. I think it makes it a lot more fun and adds to the game. I got one for my PC, but I don't use it anymore cause no one else does. Or almost no one. It is way better if everyone else uses them IMHO. Was playing noose yesterday with 4 people and all had headsets. 2 people were 10 stars and me and another guy both were level 4. They kicked the other guy because he had a high voice and sounded like a 10 year old and they kept me because I have a low voice. If I had no headset, I'm sure they would have kicked me instead. Noinin
Far out! I can't believe how many people play GTA without a headset. When I first started playing GTA online I didn't have a headset. I was bored sh*tless after 4 days and was ready to give it up. Then the dude that got me to eventually connect my PS3 to the internet after owning it for 18 months suggested that I get a headset. Hallelujah! Oh joy! Oh rapture! The Heaven's opened and I heard angels. okokok, so not really, but suddenly GTA was fun and captivating again. I've met many interesting and cool people over the last 14 months, and yeah there are the tosser's too, and the wankers who trip over their dicks when they hear a girl on the mic, lol - but I'd rather have a headset and have the option to mute someone, than sit in silence and play the game "alone". So my advice is - GET A HEADSET DAMNIT!! There's a whole world out there just waiting to be heard

SmC12
I want to know how to hear other people through the TV speakers. Unplug/Switch off your headset. As for the other way around it might be something in the options menu.
A J
unlike COD, GTA doesnt allow voice chat to be heard through the television set, which is annoying when you are can't tell people where to go. Voice chat on GTA is great, met a lot of cool people cos of it, a lot of fools as well, especially dumb french players.
Legacy-666_
I just head into ps3 Settings, Accessory Settings,Audio Device settings and then change output to System Default Device. The chatter gets abit loud through my surround sound unit. Luckily you can Mute using the onscreen phone menu. adder- maybe your output setting is on default, you should be able to change it to your headset. Spuds725
Just to clarify.. you must have a headset to do the above.. you are just directing the earpiece sound out of the TV (that is what "system default is"... your mic will still work and it will have to be on and paired with the PS3. You will likely want to go into the settings so your radio gets turned down when others talk and I believe there is some type of echo control... sorry... its been a while since I messed with this... but I have done it. I have played with people that somehow got their camera to or what not to make it so they can hear through the TV, they just couldn't speak back at me... I've directed them through the co-op missions (for the trophy) this way. Booze
I use the Logitech G330. The sweet thing about this headset is that it comes with a USB adapter. It actually has two separate plugs for in/out (mic/earphones) signals. So what I do is plug the mic into the USB adapter and the USB adapter into my PS3. Then I plug the earphones plug into my tv (using an extension cord). Then I route the voices through my tv speakers, using the method above, and the mic through my headset. Now I hear both the voices and the game sound through my earphones. This way I can control how loud voices are in comparison to the game sound (by adjusting the game sound in the game's menu) and there's no feedback from the game sound through my mic, something that happens quite often on PS3 because most mics are really sensitive The only downside to this headset is that it's a bit uncomfortable to wear for extended periods of time. O you mean like a turtle beach? When I used to play gta iv on 360 I used a head set, then I got onto the ps3. I bought some sh*tty head set and I can hardly hear whoever is talking, so I just dont use it anymore. I kinda like not using one anyways. and 90% of the games I come into on ps3 no one uses a head set anyways.
GTAking33
Anyone who doesn't have one should get the Official Sony PlayStation 3 headset it is the best option the sound quality is great it has a mute option and on screen display for ajusting the sound and showing how much battery life is left. It has around an 8 hour batter life and come with a charging stand. the feel of it in your ear takes abit of getting use to but the part around your ear is ajustable but once you're use to it you will not want any other headset. Wolfmight
yeah i haven't founda lot of worthy conversations on GTA IV. I also play Left 4 Dead 2 and almost 70% of the players have mics always wanting to lead or talk crap. It's hilarious hearing 10 year olds acting so serious in the game there too. Overall, I haven't found age to not be as much of a factor in game skill for many oddly enough. And some people just like to be angry no matter what the situation is lol - usually the same tone of voice and personality probably pissed off about something else and not talking about it to anyone. Legacy-666_
Played with a kid yesterday, he reckoned he was a teen but he really did sound like a kid.Anyway he was talkn all kinds of rubbish and had all the excuses going.Well I starting chatting to him telling him to change his voice changer so he sounded more grown up. I also told him to set his output through his TV so the voices came through the tv speakers. In the backround I could hear his mom yelling at him to turn the noise down. She finally came into his room and had a yell at him for all the noise. When I knew his mom was close enough to hear I let this out" kid you were right your mom really is a b*tch". well you should of heard it, nearly didnt need a headset to hear her from the other side of the world.needless to say he quit the game, and Im sure his mom sent him to bed. Golden_Ace
Yup, I usually have it mine on. Unless i'm out of battery. I use my mobile phone's bluetooth headset. Not much, but at least people understand me. The worst is when I have to speak french... my french is rusty, and most of the time I find french in NOOSE (understanding them is the problem... when they think you really speak french, they start tossing words at the speed of light!). Apart from that, found spanish (easier for me to speak, since Portuguese and spanish are similar languages)... Still it's preferable to speak their language since their english is really difficult to understand. Apart from my adventures on Spanish and French, once heard a whole phone conversation while playing. It was about prom night and what the guy was going to do to the poor girl he was going with... Sounded more like porn than prom night. Kids these days...
Tarty Knickers
OK, may be an idiot question, but when I'm in a game how do i work out which players have a headset and which don't, is there any way, because I can't see one. This is on PS3 by the way.
