Exxtince
Hi, I recently installed a fresh install of Windows XP pro SP1 64bit. After installing some games i decided to install GTA IV, altough i didnt came far. When the game itself is finished installing, the RSSC installer pops-up but then it will give me a notification/error: Your operating system is not compatible. As far as i know Rockstar social club is necessary for playing GTA IV, so without the installation iam not able to do so. Strangly as i always thought GTA IV supported any 64 bit OS, i cant find any 64 bit installation on the rockstar website nor any related post from someone having the same problem on this forum/google. Is this fixable in any way? or do i just need to Rollback/upgrade to Xp 32/W7 64 (which i dont prefer) Greetz

sjaak327
Quite frankly, I'm amazed that people still running XP X64, it wasn't the best OS Microsoft ever released to put it mildly. Update your OS to SP2 and try again. SP1 is not supported in any case. (not even Microsoft supports it !). Incidentially support for XP SP2 will end July this year, I presume this includes the X64 version as well. There isn't a SP3 for this version in any case. Edit: you are lucky, Microsoft extends support for the X64 version of XP with SP2 until April 2014. Quite frankly I would simply update to Windows 7 X64 it is heaps and heaps better, so is Vista X64 by the way. Exxtince
Thanks mkey82 for the helpfull info. So it seems it has something to do with MS .NET I know, iam still running XP. Basically iam pretty much forced. W7/Vista gives me too many software/driver issue's that are essential for me (5.1 sound quality sucks compared to XP). Since there aren't any new drivers to be found i just stay with a Multiboot on my pc with this OS (xp 64) as primary.
