Linki
I know Rockstar doesn't use real life crime workings as influence to GTA, but they do have some respect to it, and quite frankly, women aren't likely to be your average street thug. You know, you're right. Â We ought to stick to an average street thug that steals fighter jets for corrupt CIA agents, taking out an entire army in the process and two trained fighters scrambled to take him out. Keep it realistic, y'know. Seems you missed the majority of my point. Â I'm not asking Rockstar to keep it realistic and if you could, try to expel that word from usage. It's been raped to sh*t of it's meaning and is almost as useful a word as "overrated".- they've already demonstrated how they approach GTA. They approach it with the kind of "Hollywood realism" employed with crime films that they are influenced by. Â Now, let's actually try to muster up a female protagonist that has the same sort of believability and human depth that Niko Bellic had. Can you try? Of course, I'm not asking you to try to think up a great character in a couple minutes like that, but briefly set out a summary of a potential lead. Mainland Marauder
Â Seems you missed the majority of my point. No, I got your point. Which is basically that you have an uncanny knowledge of the inner workings of the criminal world for a teenager, to the point where you wouldn't believe a female lead in GTA. Right. I caught that part. So we move on to part two, which is apparently "it's not believable if I haven't seen it in a crime movie before." IV was an attempt to quit being so derivative of those story lines. So, turns out we do get a character like Elizabeta Torres. Â And if Elizabeta tested your suspension of disbelief, Catalina must've really been a mindf*ck. "You tell me exactly what you want, and I'll explain to you very carefully why it cannot be." Here's a more clearer explanation, just so you can understand. Don't worry, I'll try not to be all confusing and complicated for that cute little brain of yours  GTA is an ultra-exaggerated world that takes a LOT of inspiration of cinema's depiction of crime in America. IV was an original story, but it was still a very cinematic story that wasn't grounded in realism, but rather human characters (when it came to realism).  Even Elizabeta says it, she's a "woman in a man's world". And Catalina was a decent depiction of a female, criminal character, but not one that could work as a protagonist.

sublimelabs
I wouldn't object to this, mostly because I trust Rockstar. Â Personally, I think the magic of it being a video game and all would give reason to a woman doing such things. The player is controlling her. Plus, there's always room for subtle backstory. Â Would be nice if she was actually attractive; you'd be staring at her behind for the majority of the game. Though, I know Rockstar wouldn't make her the typical badass girl in films who looks like a model.

What, was she too much of a homicidal maniac? You see her taking orders from others? I could see it now, getting rejected by CJ then having a hot coffee session with Claude, then quick-time eventing' a call to CJ moaning into the phone. Brilliant! Â And I want to clarify: If Rockstar could create a female protagonist with the same sort of human depth Niko had, then great. Sarah Connor is one of my favorite characters, and she was straight up bad without being forced or like a butch dyke.

I'm sorry, I just came back from reading 800 posts about how much CJ and Niko were everyone else's bitch all the time and how Tommy was so awesome because he didn't take sh*t off anyone. Â Catalina as protagonist should be right up their alley. Â Nice call on Sarah Connor though. "You tell me exactly what you want, and I'll explain to you very carefully why it cannot be."
