A female protagonist would be nice in my opinion. About damn time, too. You mean you would really want to see the Sex scenes? - Allowing kids to see someone shoot some guy point blank in the face with a shotgun, while not allowing them to see two people having sex is something I'm used to but really is beyond my comprehension. That's a different discussion however. - Assuming she has sex with men the sex scenes would be no different than those in any other GTA, so it didn't even cross my mind. So long as rockstar keep a few things in mind: The crime world, as stated, isn't big on females, it's an old fashioned sexist world. The story would have to be exceptionally well thought out and written to compensate this. The character has to be good. Rare for R* to fail at this point, but they'd have to give her a very strong motivation. More so then Niko's Johnny's etc. They'd have to be tasteful about it, loads of players will dress her like a sl**, R* need to avoid this, but at the same time preventing her from being like a nun. The clothes would be tricky to get right. And to anyone who says a woman wouldnt be tough enough i have 2 points for you: 1 - child birth 2 - ever p*ssed a woman off? *Cue Lee Evans' joke about women on the front line* ^ I agree wit Mokrie Now for GTA to come out with the beginning protag as a female is a bit intense, thats already obvious from many of the responses in the thread. If there are in any way extra protagonist like from EFLC, a female would definitely work as one. When I think of "her" I see that she is already experienced in hand to hand combat & guns, as if she is ex-US military or something similar. so that she is experienced in killing , I think being an ex-sniper would work pretty well, just to show she definitely had to & was willing to take many lives without hesitation. As for her clothing, R* would get it right, & she wouldnt dress like Michele or anyone from LC. Baggy khaki pants or Capris with non-skimpy tank top, & just any normal dress clothes for "mafia" work. You might think about running in heels or w/e but like I said im sure R* would know how to balance it all & make it work. Its not impossible or too complicated to put a female in such a role. People underestimated Niko for certain things, it would be the same thing for a female protag, except she might even be more so in some situations, which only would gain her even more respect in the crime world when she unexpectedly shoots them in the face. I'd be a little sceptical just because I think it would be hard to write a story in the GTA spirit with a woman as the lead. As someone already said, imagine if Niko was a woman, but if R* choose to go with a woman protag, I'm 100% confident they if anyone could write a fitting story, so I wouldn't really mind. Seriously? Those saying things like "I can't imagine a woman running around with an AK killing multiple people" So fiction aside, you regularly see guys doing that then? (Those who'll come back at me with names like James Holmes, Anders Breivik etc. don't bother, because you've missed the point entirely) Also, those saying chauvinistic things like "women belong in the kitchen" or a woman wouldn't be taken seriously, you're just proving why a female protagonist would work, they'd at least have the motivation to cut those bigoted assholes down a level or two. Physically if women can serve in the forces, then they can do the stuff a GTA protagonist can. In games like Saints Row and Skyrim it's understandable that you can choose between a male and female because you're creating a character for yourself that's nothing more than an avatar for you to journey through the story with. In GTA you don't create an avatar because Rockstar has already moulded a character with a history, an attitude and a personality for you to go through their detailed story with. Obviously GTA V won't feature a female protagonist but a GTA title would be the best suited to be the kickstarter, in DLC at least because they have the money, fanbase and execution skills. A female protagonist could also make the story unfold in a rather interesting way seeing as sexism is obviously still quite prevelant.
