Ash_735
Graphics Card deffo needs an upgrade, and if you have any money left over, invest in a decent Sound Card too!
mkey82
For that dosh you can get a decent card ATI http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....eon%20HD%205770 Sadly, 5000 series seems to have issues with GTAIV. Nvidia solution, a bit overpriced if you ask me http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....%20200%20series
sjaak327
I believe the 1798 MB GTX 260 should be obtainable for about 200-250 USD. I have this card, and the additional memory actually comes in handy in this game. On my settings the game consumes 1390 mb. (everything as high as they will go, except view distance which is set to 75). Seeing as you are using XP SP3, upgrading your OS to Windows 7 x64 will at least give you the possiblity to really utilize the 4 GB ram and 1 GB vram. The realtek is decent enough for this game in any case.

michael196
this has already been said, but anyway, You should definately invest in a new graphics card and get win 7 (64-BIT!!!) only 64 bit will let you utilize the full amount of you RAM. Rachpoil
Sins you have a quad core, the video card is the definite choice if your power supplies can handle the new one. Something to check when buying a new video card is to make sure your power supply can handle it. Your power supply needs to deliver close to the video card’s recommended PSU Wattage AND the recommended Amps on the 12v rail. In your case sins your CPU dose not draw much power, you could go even at bit lower depending on the card you buy.

amd74
and can you use enb series bloom+ max resolution of monitor if yes i'll buy 5770 instead of 260gtx but i'm 78% planning to buy sparkle 260 GTX 1700 megabyte can ati 5770 change my choice? i wanted to buy 5770 but i heard gta iv has nothing to do with directx 11 Edited March 18, 2010 by amd74
GTA3Freak-2001
Its hard to say how any card can run GTA4 let alone with enb or max res as that depends on your monitor and GTA4 is just a mixed bag of performance. If you are lucky both cards should offer rougthly the same result. The extra memory on the 260 GTX may be an advantage for GTA4 though.
LCstuntman
If the only game you will ever play on your computer is GTA IV, I would say go with the GTX260. But because the 5770 has DX11, it's way more future-proof than the 260, so if you plan on playing any other recent (and especially future) games, go with the 5770 1GB. amd74
tell me plz tell me which one is newer the 5770 or 260 GTX? and why did you tell me if i want to play just GTA IV go get a 260GTX? what does 260GTX have that 5770 doesn't? as i studied ATI 5770 HD is newer than 260GTX and it is a little faster than 260GTX and also 260GTX is made for 800megabytes and i don't think using -availablevidmem 2.0 changes the performance and it hasn't been made to handle 1600 megabytes of GTA IV graphics ATI is good for future games too ATI has a GDDR5 memory but 260GTX has GDDR3 ATI can handle 76.8 GB/sec but 260GTX can do much better by 111.9 GB/sec i am changing my mind every 5 seconds please help me that i can make the best decision now i am planning to buy ATI 86% and it is cheaper and sucks less electricity so less bills will come yes no yes no .... Cursed
I'd go for the 5770. The GTX 260 is getting old now. Plus it draws more power, is a little slower in some games and is DX10 only versus the 5770s DX11.
