No.

 

Actually, the better way to keep your weapons is to date Katie (the Asian girl, located in the SF golf course). If you start dating her, you can keep your weapons after you die.

 

Edit: No, wait. I know what your talking about. I forgot that CJ loses his weapons after the crash. I can't remember, I think that you get them back after you beat the mission, or they are just gone forever. Someone correct me on this.

After the mission "the green sabre" you loose all weapons and you don't get them back. Also in the mission "The Da Nang Thang" after the heli crash, you'll loose all weapons except the knife.

But, you can go ashore and replace your weapons after the Crash and Before CJ climbs the rope ladder.

 

Remember there are lots of FREE weapons and body armour spinning all around the State of San Andreas, IF you bother to look.

 

A related side note on a future mission:

When parachuting to blow up the Dam Generators. If you miss the target point and land in the water It appears CJ has lost all his weapons.

He hasn't... At the end of the mission CJ get's them all back... Unless you go and get more (other than the knife provided in the mission.)
