I don't know which old skool video game system that I like the best. I can't decide between the NES, SNES, Sega Saturn and PS2. I could write for pages about the pros and cons but I don't feel like doing that. lol.gif

Please disscus why you like the video game system that you voted for.

The NES and SNES are just AWESOME. I wish I had an NES and an SNES so I could put them in a glass case. cool.gif

With the Sega Saturn I just could not stop playing because it was so cool. The games are just extremely epic-ly amazingly awesome. Even to this day I wish that I had not gotten rid of it. cryani.gif The games that I liked where Nights into Dreams, Bug, Bug Too and Street fighter. What REALLY sucks most is that There are not any good Sega Saturn emulators.

The PS2 was just incredible. It had the best graphics but you can hardly tell a difference between the Dreamcast and the PS2 because the TV I had back then was crapy. I wish that I had not gotten rid of that either! cryani.gif Pscx2 is not as undeveloped as the Sega Saturn emulator but it still can't play Jet X2O, ATV Offroad Fury and Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skys.

I love all sorts of old consoles.

My favorites are the SNES, NES, Vectrex, Atari 2600, Sega Genesis and some others.

and some lesser known ones i'm enjoying is my Magnavox Odyssey 2, Fairchild Channel F and the always awesome Coleco Telstar(pong, lol)

Super Nintendo for me felt like the 1st significant jump to 16 Bits, Sega aside.

Just about every title was memorable, I remember where I lived and the friends and family I played each game with.

And the systems from then on were just sturdy as hell for conventional knocks,

I ran through like 4 NES until Super Nintendo. That lasted me till the Nintendo 64 and that lasted me until the Gamecube.

My Wii seems pretty delicate by comparison.

I have been trying to find where to buy a SNES. All I can find is that Super NES retro duo system. sad.gif I prefer the original console.

My friend has a SNES but he doesn't want to sell it to me. He has just about all of the main video game systems (including PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii) but he doesn't have a Sega Genesis or Saturn! I wonder what he did for entertainment in 1990-1998!

I will try to eventually buy another SNES, Sega Saturn and PS2. I had to sell my older consoles to buy the next system that they made and so on.

Lack of Sega Master System in the poll sad.gif

I used to have it with Alex the Kid, Sonic and some sort of Rambo-esque game. I can't remember the name, but the boss on the first level was a helicopter, it was pretty damn fun even by todays standards.

N64 is the radest console ever made. It is also the only one I have ever owned, which is the sole reason behind its radness. I still have it in working condition, and I still play GoldenEye with my sister when we have the game around.

GoldenEye... inlove.gif

And I'm sorry, but the PS2, despite being a decade old, isn't "old" enough to qualify, imo.  wink.gif

Hasn't it been discontinued yet? I'm pretty sure they don't make games for it anymore.

There's still a lot of games that come out on the PS2, that come out on the 360 and PS3, only games I can think of is Madden and Guitar Hero.

For me it would probably be the Sega Megadrive as a kid, playing Sonic and having a horrible time trying to get passed an underwater part within a level and jumping for joy when I passed it.

As I got older my first actual console that I remember getting as a real gift was the PS1. Played the sh*t out of it and never had any problems with it. Loved it even more because it was so small and lightweight that I was able to take it with me when staying over at families places.

The PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube shouldn't be in the pool.

Agreed. And they shouldn't be in the poll either, for that matter.

Anyway, for me it'd have to be the Dreamcast, for one reason: Shenmue. Still probably the best gaming experience I have ever had.

Megadrive/Genesis is a close second as the first console I ever played.
