Oddsock
Your mother tongue (Fluent) English. Your first language English The language you can speak "alright!" Spanish The ones you are learning and enjoy. Ukrainian, Esperanto, Hindi/Gujarati. I should add that I am really just picking up a few phrases in Ukrainian because I like confusing people by putting on an Eastern European accent and insisting I am from Odessa. Esperanto is a language I would love to learn but, you know, I never actually FOCUS on it despite there being free lessons on the internet. Hindi (and the local Indian dialect Gujarati) I learn phrases from because I have a bunch of Indian friends at college. I'd like to think I am quite proficient at flirting with Indian girls thanks to them.

English is your first language? I never would have guessed. I've always been confused about which language is my mother tongue and my first language. So your thing doesn't really fit in on me. My first language would have to be Swedish or Bosnian, I am fluent in both. My third language is English, which I also speak fluently. I am currently learning German, and I'd hardly say my German is "alright!" because mein Deutschkenntnisse ist vollständig Scheisse, nor do I enjoy learning it because my teacher is useless at her profession. I don't want to learn how the adjective is related to the grammatical gender, that's not how I learned to speak the other languages, you whore. Eminence
LOL. I think most English would be inclined to agree that Americans speak American though. At least my Welsh boss says so. Well no, not really. 'American' constitutes a group of dialects. The language they speak is English, no matter which way you look at it.
Pico
Your mother tongue (Fluent) English (American) Your first language English (American) The language you can speak "alright!" Spanish (Mexican)... kind of. The ones you are learning and enjoy. Spanish (Mexican) I have lived in the USA my entire life, in one town actually. It's a suburb of Chicago so while I have basically a straight up "American" accent there's hints of a Chicago accent in there on some words. My own has a large percentage of hispanic people, mainly Mexican. I have a bunch Mexican friends, and one of my best friends is is mainly Mexican. So she's been teaching me a little bit here and there. I've picked up a little bit, enough to understand some things said, and I can reply enough to make sense to simple questions. I've been told that I have a really good accent and I say most of the words properly, but not the best. I've got a good understanding of the way words are spelled, and I can read it pretty much perfectly. My biggest problems are with T's and V's, where the T's have more of a D sound and the V's have a slight B sound to them. Hard to get the sound down just right. Other than that, sentence structure is a bit tough, but I think I've got it down alright. The best part is being around some Mexican people who are speaking in Spanish and understanding what they're talking about when they think I can't I also took French for a year in middle school. That was over 10 years ago now, but I got something like 105% (extra credit) and some of it has stuck with me to this day. I've got a decent French accent. I think the fact that I always done accents of many kinds jokingly my whole life has helped me use them seriously. I would like to learn pretty much any language, but if I could pick one to master besides Spanish it'd be Italian... or Japanese, lol.
