But Gfwl users or PC users got TLAD achievements but not TLAd.. And PS3 users none.. So now it measn that we will Have NO achieveemnts of TBOgt or they will be included in a classy GFWL update which i am sure will take months after EFLc will be released or on th same day... CharmingCharlie Posted March 14, 2010 Share Posted March 14, 2010 Ok here is a brief explanation as to why the PC has the lost and damned achievements but NOT the Ballad of Gay Tony achievements yet. It is my understanding that Rockstar was always under the impression that they would be allowed to release the PC version before the PS3 version. The first DLC on the PC (TLAD) has actually been ready since June 2009 and they were waiting for the "ok" from Micorosoft. Now I believe the 1st DLC was originally slated to be released on the PC in September 2009 but Microsoft said NO. Rockstar then wanted to release the DLC in November 2009 but again Microsoft said NO since it was too near the release of the 2nd DLC on the xbox 360. Now fast forward to today, Rockstar just gave up bothering to release individual episodes for the PC and just decided to do the whole thing when they released the PS3 version since Microsoft couldn't stop it then. So there you go the TLaD achievements are already in the PC version because originally it was going to get the DLC like the 360 got the DLC. If you have the time to answer - do you believe R* will never patch the game again? Because as we all know it would've been better to keep 1.0.3.0 rather than break so much with 1.0.0.4. It will be a damn shame if the textures remain broken forever... not to mention the missing shadows. I also fear for the episodes as they're probably based on an earlier build of the game. If I was to speculate I would say there is a 50/50 chance of a new patch, it all depends on how much Rockstar deems the current issues "game breaking". I mean lets face it the PC version of anything from Rockstar isn't exactly a priority for them. We also have to face the fact that they will want to move on from GTA 4 now and concentrate on the next GTA game. So speculating I would say we have a good chance of getting one last patch to try and fix everything that's broken (naturally it will fail and probably break something else). If I was to speculate further I would say the PC was going to get TLAD at the end of November 2009. It is reasonable to say that because the last patch geared the PC version up to work with the DLC. However shortly after the patch was released it soon became clear that the patch had several major issues. So it is feasible to assume that they put the DLC release on hold to do another patch to rectify the problems and just decided that they might as well release the DLC episodes together on the PC like they are doing on the PS3. So the short answer is currently the odds are good we will get at least one final patch but then this is Rockstar and they have a history of leaving their games on the PC with glaring errors and bugs. U can say it in other words a Patch EXLUsive to the two dlcs or EFLC only so we get achievements and play them... gta 4 will not get ANY improvement though..
