Gronf, that is exactly what happened to me. I realized the stuff was sh*t and haven't eaten it since. The best part is I was like 14/15 when I cut out fast food and haven't had a zit since. Cutting out fast food might be easier for some then others I recently realized. I would have to think that if you live is some remote suburban area you may not have as much access to places where people will cook your food. I live in the land of cheesesteaks, so no matter where I am there is always going to be a quick good meal in walking distance. We weren't the fattest city in the nation for so many years for nothing.

@$RebelG, where are you going to be when in the states? Just curious...

I have never had Taco Bell food. I think they showed up on the fast food scene after I gave up fast food. Sonic cracks me up. I see a ton of commercials for them but, I have never actually seen a Sonic.

The Guru, I love the TacoBell India story.

I'm f*cking starving, and it has nothing to do with all this food talk.

Virginia within a couple months hopefully.

Best place I ever ate at for burgers was Red Robin's mainly because apart from how nice the burger was you've gotta love the free fries. Best pizza place I ever went to was damn I can't even remember the name now, oh yeah Papa Johns. I tried Pizza Hut but it tasted like sh*t compared to the UK version. I pretty much fell in love with TGI Fridays because every place I went to seemed to do real good steaks. Cheesecake factory's food is nothing to shout about though, even worse that I don't like cheesecake as well.

Heh, yeah, my town isn't that large. We don't have a BK/McD here, the only fast food place I know of is a kebab wagon "downtown" and that opened up a few years ago. But that's not the reason - thing is, I would always nag my parents to take me out to buy a Happy Meal when I was younger, but even then I hated the stuff and I really only bought the Happy Meal for the adorable box and the toy inside, and on occasion the fries. I've never liked Coke or Pepsi either. It's not that I'm one of those health-obsessed fruit-loops, I've just never liked the stuff.

I don't smoke either, but that's because I've seen what the gunk does to a person. For the past decade my old man's been waking up once a night, coughed his lungs out and gone back to sleep. But I digress, I'm not one of those douchebags who hate everything that's bad for ya, I just don't like it.

...I'd kill for a curry place in my local area, gosh I miss curry.

There's a pizza place near me that literally has the best f*cking pizza in the world, and it's only £10 for 18" of pizza. And free delivery. Damn.

@$RebelG, my dad lives in Virgina. I had to live with him for a year of high school back when. West end of Richmond - Henrico county. Ok my name is Trip, and guess what...? My dad's name is Chip. If you see an old bald guy that looks like me just yell 'Chip!!' and if he turns and looks - that's my dad.

@Gronf, I too am far from a health nut, and even though my wife is a vegetarian of over 30yrs neither is she. We both smoke to boot. You are cracking me up though, because I'm right there with you on the Coke,Pepsi, soda thing. The only time I drink soda is when I'm sick and ginger ale seems to be a savior. Although, I did discover NOS(energy drink) and it seems I might have one of those every week or two. It's like crack.

It's easy to be passively healthy. Drink water or juice in place of soda, and when you have the option of steps or escalator - take the steps. It's all right there in front of you.

I'm sat in my underpants, drinking beer and listening to Frank Zappa. Is this the good life?

Don't answer that, I know the answer. You're damn right.

f*ckin-A dude...

No more credit at the liquor store...

I hope you were at a good state when 'bad trouble every day' came on.

I have everything Zappa ever recorded

I wanted to bring up Zappa a few pages ago, ask for some recommendations but now feels like the time to go for it. I've only listened to Hot Rats and Sheik Yerbouti. I've definitely grown to like Hot Rats more and more, so I guess I'm looking for stuff like that. I don't mind the comical stuff, but The Gumbo Variations really hits the spot for me. Would the Mothers of Invention stuff be worth a look (or listen)?

I have a fair few albums on my iPod, and a Hot Rats vinyl that my girl bought me that has never been played, simply because I daren't.

Actually, that's a lie, played it once at her house, Willie The Pimp with that distinctive crackle.

What albums you got? I have Apostrophe, Bongo Fury, Frank Zappa Meets The Mothers Of Prevention, The Grand Wazoo, Hot Rats, Lather, Jazz From Hell, Sheik Yerbouti, Ship Arriving Too Late To Save A Drowning Witch, Shut Up N' Play Yer Guitar, Sleep Dirt, Trance Fusion, Uncle Meat, Waka/Jawaka, You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore 6, Weasels Ripped My Flesh and Zoot Allures.

Sheik Yerbouti is my absolute diamond, I listen to it all the time and have done for about 3 years.

Red Robin's

For a chain restaurant they're pretty damn good. I like the variety of burger and sandwich types there as well.

A lot of people carry on about 5 Guys here, it's kind of a high end burger chain you pay something like $10-12 dollars for a Burger, fries and a drink (roughly 7-10 £).

It isn't bad but I can immediately think of two local, family owned restaurants that blow them out of the water and you'll pretty much see that trend in just about every restaurant category.

Her's is vegetarian bacon.

What exactly is that made out of?

I have a fair amount of fast food. I'm trying to cut back a bit though now and try to get heathier options like those custom sandwiches and what not. Not because I'm a health nut but more so that I don't gain weight. Working in retail inside a large centre means there are plenty of options for lunch so that helps a bit. It was more when I was back in university the only places to eat were a tiny asian noodle place, which had flies in half of the food, and McDonalds across the road. Needless to say McDonalds won that battle most times.

Haha if I ever go there I'll be sure to look out if I remember, since I'll be in Richmond near the Norfolk airport.

If you're in Melbourne, what shopping centre are you talking about? Just curious.

I wouldn't say I have a problem with fast food myself, just overeating. I have a normal, balanced diet, except more often than not my quantities are humongous so I end up stacking weight on weight. I exercise a lot; I play indoor soccer every Monday and go to the gym often, but in the end my weight just fluctuates from really chubby to slightly chubby.

But, with mid-semester break coming up, hopefully I'll be able to curb that. icon14.gif

Does anybody remember an old beat 'em up on the PS1?

It was called Versus and if I remember correctly, it had a guy on the cover who looked like a chessboard. Anyone have any recollection of this whatsoever? There's no Wikipedia article on it, can't even find it on GameFAQs.

Punk-in-Drublic

I've had a decent piss up this weekend, got smashed on Friday then went to a Punk/Ska alldayer at a local bar, got pissed and went back to the promoters house for a few beers and a spliff. Now I need to sleep lol.gif

I thought this topic had drifted off into page 2 obscurity, i really did.

It's just my habit to subconciously disregard pinned topics as if they were a permanent fixture of the page that didnt need looking at.

sure pinning it isn't doing it a disservice, or is it just me, does everyone else actually check the pinned stuff?

It was under your nose the whole time. (even Wikipedia)

I guess it was just a matter of 'Versus' versus 'Vs.'...

or maybe Vs. vs. versus...

Well anyway, there it is.

I've been thinking about uploading the Fable 2 DLC, since they've announced some details on the 3rd one. Anyone here play it well enough to tell me if it's worth my Microsoft points?

Yet again my PC got f*cked up again due to some virus (and this time I had Anti Virus software). Damn it, f*ck AV scanning software it does jack sh*t. I prefer not wasting any money on it and formatting my PC instead of buying into that BS and having to do the same (formatting).

Been busy early this morning formatting and reinstalling everything. In a rush I forgot to backup one important (gaming related) thing: 'Xlive' folder from my GTAIV savegames. Haven't tried it yet but I assume my savegames won't work and there goes my 'only 20 FLYING f*ckING RATS' left savegame.

f*cking damn this sh*t to hell sad.gif.

They don't f*ck up easily if it weren't for the crappy Games for Windows Live (read Xboxlive for PC). You have to backup the savegames PLUS some 'Games for Windows Live' bullsh*t files that relate your account to the savegames (so you can't cheat or whatnot).

In other words: something completely useless. If people want to download savegames and play with them it's their business.

On the other hand: got clean install (again xD) and this was the only thing that acted odd. And in the end it didn't took that long to be honest.

Yip. All soy but made to look (and so they say) smell like bacon. My wife is an angry vegetarian. It's been a good 30yrs and at this point there is no way to go back, not to mention what would happen to her insides if she had meat. She get so very jealous of my nice meat smells - like fresh 'real' bacon.

@Pc gaming vs console gaming. I'm not going to start down that road, but I noticed last night while spacing out on my PC and listening to music while poking around the internet - I rest my left hand on WASD wile I mouse around my browser.

After a discussion by all staff in the modcave it has been decided that this topic isnt needed.

There is a questions thread which was already here anyway. Activity will decline in the main gen chat forum by users posting in pinned topics.

This is not an invite for stupid new topics popping up either.
