seriously though, what is it with this musical chairs game in officials nowadays, it's all recruit, recruit, recruit, or, if you are already in one, change.

Thats what I was thinking, it seems that The Connection have just had about 100 new members, most of them from other Official gangs.

not as if it even matters which official you are in, once you get in, thats it, you've played the game and won, everybody knows your not to be messed with.

To be honest, i'd only notice a few new people in the officials, it's very subtle.

I like the premise of this thread. smile.gif I've been hoping someone would of done something like this. tounge.gif

Anyways, hows the weather smile.gif Mines very warm and sunny for a change. lol.gif

We need an IRC Gen Chat.

There's one linked in the Nice Threads section of the opening post. Jelly does a pretty good job holding it down in there. Activity is sometimes a bit dead so people get a little turned off but when you get a handful of random folks in there, shenanigans ensue. It's good to idle in there just to see who stops in if you really want to catch a conversation.

@Voodoo & Trip: Thanks for the advice, applying it directly.

@greebo-man: I had a slight romantacism towards the Officials before finally signing on with one as well. You're "you've played the game and won" analogy made me laugh because I definitely framed it that way at one point, it couldn't be furthest from the truth. The Official gangs are now struggling to find their place at GTAF once again and are finally (or should be) getting out of their caves and getting active with the community again. Thus, the spike in recruiting and a few people changing out. We're stirrin' about, not sure how quickly but activity has been up on the main OGA board and in the public again. It's a good thing.

Sup turds. The weather is finally getting pretty around here. Sunny, no clouds, and a slight breeze.

Outside activity of the day: Softball practice.

Was Slamman's new account here just a while ago? I heard a rumour and then the account got banned, just thought.

Not a rumor, he came back under a 2nd account. I don't really think that's priveledged info since it was being discussed openly elsewhere. Poor dude's probably having massive withdrawal at the moment. I honestly don't know he could have continued on the way he did when he was privately and publicly warned about some of his bad habits several times but it is what it is.

@Aussiebushmatt: Tough break, man. Better you find out now before a baby or some sort of nuptials were introduced into the equation. I've had my share of bad and unexpected turns with women in the past. You live, you learn and the next one will be better. Don't settle, maybe rebound a bit for some pointless sex but beyond that, work on what you want out of life and things will work out.

I just watched this piece on Current about Light Graffitti, a very cool new way of capturing light streams to capture temporary art.

Daz and Kajun are the only two active people I see these days, you should smile pretty at them.

Oh and you must own a racecar bed. Kind of a prerequisite.

"Your bed is a car." "Yeah but it's a f*ckin' sweet car." God I love Grandma's Boy.

Yeah, car-bed is a must if you want in on Feroci.

KillerKabel

So yea, seeing this thread just gave me an idea about another thing this thread could be used for, or maybe my idea should get it's own thread.

"The Link Dump!"

How often do you come across something awesome on the net? At least >9k times a day, amiright?

So yea, instead of going, "f*ck yea that is awesome!" and move about with you daily internet lives, post em here, let others enjoy them as well.

Anyway, it's late, so I'ma go to sleep after MW2'ing some moar.

G'night.

Well there are a lot of occasions where someone will start a topic over a simple link with not much more behind it so that would certainly apply here.

i.e. two posts back, I found something cool, wanted to share but didn't want to make an entire topic about it.

i.e. Ya Mum just opened a topic about how we'd gotten sick at work, that sort of thing would have been totally welcome here.

I was hearing last week that NASA Scientist are saying the Chilean quake likely shifted Earth’s axis and that it likely shifted our entire day's time table by a fraction of a second. Don't really want to make an entire topic about it but it would be cool to discuss.

Does anyone think there's a possibility of some sort of cumulative affect from this in the coming years?

Well, later on in the article, it mentions that a larger earthquake that hit in 2004 made the same change, but was a little more substantial. I would only assume any large earthquake would make an effect like this. The Earth is very old, so this might seem like a rare occurrence to us, but small changes like this are probably pretty common, which they suggest near the end of the article.

With changes like that, as more occur, there will obviously be a cumulative effect on the length of our days, but we'll probably never notice it in our lifetime.

I read about this not long after the quake. My first reaction was something along the lines of "Wait... what?" because I just wasn't aware that something as minor (yes I know it was a big quake, but how much of the world was directly affected?) as this was able to change something as major as our goddamn axis of rotation, which in turn effects the length of the day. There aren't enough hours in the day without the Chile quake stealing another 1.26 microseconds of it.

At least we're not titled like Uranus.

Cue joke about my anus.

It's 8:30 am here so it may be a little too late to nod off depending on what timezone you're in.

@Piperka: That dancing Chick sig is getting the better of me. biggrin.gif

Yea the axis shift thing totally makes me think of the old school Superman movie where he rushes around the earth at top speed to reverse time and save Louis Lane. Obviously nothing that extreme in this case but the ideal that simple shifts can effect our whole perception of time which is sort of a man made concept to begin with is a fairly interesting thing to think about.

I had an annual training in Dallas on Thursday and Friday for my job and the ride back was something hellish, it took me 3 hours to get there on the trip going up and something like 6 hours coming back due to some huge accident on the east side of the city. It's awfulness was increased because I had carpooled up there with two other girls from another location and they insisted on listening to the worst effing music on the way back. Something like The Delilah Show, some desperate houesewife ballad radio show crap, if you've ever heard it you'll know my pain. From there we moved on to Tejano which is basicallly Country Western mexican music then actual Country Western Music and finally ended up on some Top 50 pop station. It took everything in my power not to make a hard right and bank a 90 degree turn into the nearest solid object. The dark god of awful tunage had his way with me, sad to say.

Tears, man. Tears. cryani.gif

Wow, you sleep for 9 hours and you find this gem.

Anyone find household chores can get quite relaxing after a while? I've just done the washing up and now I'm pairing socks up. I thought it'd kill me but I've stuck a little music on and I've propped up a basket against my bed so I can lie down, roll 'em up and launch 'em. I feel like LeBron.

Getting myself motivated enough to do housework is always a massive undertaking but once I get going, I'm gone.

Feels good to feel like you've actually got something productive done (even if the 6 Year old's trashed the joint within the 2 days following that tounge.gif ).

Depends on how im feeling, if I really am bored with playing 360 or being on the net for too long I pretty much do the same. Have some music playing the background and go clean up a bit. It really is relaxing, makes me really feel like i'm all homey or something. Going to head out to class in a bit, might just go clean some sh*t up.

This is exactly why I don't go in any of the GTA IV/V forums at all. They're pretty full of guys like him, moreso the V than the IV forum but they exist in both. Well, there's that and the fact that I haven't played GTA in about 5 months.

Don't get me all wrong though, I mean there are some normal, intelligent people there, as well as some very good ideas getting thrown around. I don't mean to tar them all with the same brush, but sometimes it's hard to notice them through the haze of idiocy that fills the place. I'm pretty sure anyone who has joined here in their teens has been one of those idiots when we first joined, so I guess I'm being a bit hypocritical...

But yeah, the avatar's pretty rad, thanks. Though I needed something other than the generic MW2 avatar that I had recently (animated AC-130 emblem).

Just watched that Gaga video for the 1st time yestrday and I just kept wondering the whole time just how much "e" Beyonce is droppin' these days. You'll hear some light references to it in songs and such but it's really prevalant with the R&B & Hip Hop crowd moreso than is let on, especially on the Hip Hop side.

I spent my whole first 3 months here or so in San An Gen Chat starting every post with a " devil.gif " and ending every post with "Long Live rahkstar2.gif" so I try to cut people some slack unless they are consistantly douchey or whatever.
