meta187
I've just noticed that every private sector of the forums has a General Chat topic for catch all type posts and the largest chat sector doesn't. I've seen tens of dozens of topics locked this year for being too short or slightly irrelevant. Not every one joining the forums for the 1st time is going to have the experience to know the difference and some feel obliged to start Introduction topics and the like just to get to know other members. This gives every one from the top on down some common ground. ~ Studio: Q-13 Lounge / Q:13 Warrior Tunes / Interweb Chex Mix, yo.~
Scifen
I don't understand how some people put together topics slightly like these and they always seem to fail miserably with like "f*ck you noob", "fall asleep on a train track & sh*t". Then meta shows up on this unicorn, puts some witty wording together throws a few chopped and screwed pictures here and there and bam everyone is like "meta you rock", "meta you are like jesus, barrack obama and ghandi al into one like tootsie roll & sh*t" "Just when I thought I was out, They pulled me back in"
Robinski
^^ It's because Meta's obviously put some effort in here, and presented it well. It's a lot more than a simple "Here's a topic for you to spout your sh*t in lulz". Although to be honest, I'm unclear about this thread: is it a reference topic, or a chat topic (like this for OGA members)? 'Cos to be honest with you, I'm not sure a lot of the denizens of GenChat could use it properly. Prove me wrong GC!
meta187
Prove me wrong GC! Here's to hopin'. And yes it's like our General Chat topic in the OGA extended to everyone else so that people don't have to necessarily make multi-paragraph topics just to say "hello" or simply talk about something they had on their mind, without getting shouted down for being off topic or simply making a poor one. *Love you too johnson. The unicorn takes no offense. So how's everyone's weekend going? I did absolutely nothing today but smoke a bit, play some Bioshock 2 and upload the new DLC for it and take the family out to the park. The weather was good so we took advanage of it, I think it's going to be disgustingly hot again this time next month. darthYENIK
I haven't played Bioshock 2 yet. I rented and beat the first game, during a really terrible time in my life, and I don't want to bring up any of those bad memories.
The Guru
My weekend, well quite interesting. I remember that I went to a Hookah bar yesterday afternoon and then took a rickshaw to a friend's house. Had some pot and then went off buying drinks for the night. My memory stops from the part where I left from the booze shop. Robinski
My weekend's been pretty boring so far. Went out and got wasted at a friends 18th Birthday on Friday night then spent yesterday morning recovering. It was also a personal celebration for myself seeing as the day before I got my results for my January A Level exams (A in law, A in Maths and A in Critical Thinking btw). I then went about frantically cobbling together a Mothers Day present in town whilst unashamedly listening to my recently acquired Lady Gaga album (yes, I must be a fa**ot). Possibility of football with the lads later today. To be honest with you, the whole reason I made this post was to gloat about my the three As I got, as I'm generally not a very smug person in normal life but have needed an outlet for my smugness. It doesn't help that I outperformed my friends so if I bring it up around them I'll feel like a dickhead.
Punk-in-Drublic
I like this thread, and yaay, the alcohol topic is on that list! As for my weekend, just the usual, went out on friday and had a few bottles of cheap dry cider with one of my Punk mates, picked up some fit girl (albeit she had a bottle of Vodka ). went back to my mates uncle's house and had a few joints, I was smashed. Then on Saturday I got pissed again, went home at 2 am, nothing exciting. Today Im gonna stay in I think. BTW, where can I buy Buckfast?

I rented and beat the first game, during a really terrible time in my life, and I don't want to bring up any of those bad memories. Funny you should say that I was playing Ogre Battle 64 while I was sicker than I've ever been in my life and got a really sh*tty ending on it. Wouldn't go near it now, it was also just a pretty shiity game posing as a Tactics style RTS. I have several other games I have specific life memories attached to I'm sure. Effing Hour lost today, Fall Back sure. Spring Forward? Kill that noise. During his time as an American envoy to France, Benjamin Franklin, author of the proverb, "Early to bed, and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise", anonymously published a letter suggesting that Parisians economize on candles by rising earlier to use morning sunlight.[16] This 1784 satire proposed taxing shutters, rationing candles, and waking the public by ringing church bells and firing cannons at sunrise.[17] Franklin did not propose DST; like ancient Rome, 18th-century Europe did not keep precise schedules. However, this soon changed as rail and communication networks came to require a standardization of time unknown in Franklin's day. Oblivionz
This weekend's been a lazy weekend for me, really. I had plans on Saturday to hang out with an ex but they didn't end up working out, so I skyped with Chris. Also; sorry I didn't call last night, Meta. Chris' phone died, and I fell asleep at around 4am.

trip
It's been raining all weekend. Yesterday I made the mistake of drinking a NOS(high powered energy drink) too late into the evening. Even though I drank a handful of beers too, I still ended up all awake and jittery through the wee hours. I actually played single player IV for a few hours Hi everybody. meta187
I actually played single player IV for a few hours I've really been thinking about getting back into MP a bit just to socialize with more people from GTAF, If you haven't played the TBoGT DLC yest definitely pick it up, it finally brought a good sense of humor back to the GTA franchise that wasn't quite as present in the main storyline and TLAD. And for the record I don't think of you as a "freak" tripmills, you seem like a genuinely nice dude. @Obliv: S'all Good, I have a few errands to run mid day but I'll be around this afternoon and evening. ~ Studio: Q-13 Lounge / Q:13 Warrior Tunes / Interweb Chex Mix, yo.~

Punk-in-Drublic
BoGT is the BEST MP experience on IV, Jake. I don't know what you're on about. It's all the morons with the Buzzard, I entered a free mode once and every time I spawned I got raped by some level 10 virgin in that damn helicopter. meta187
I took the DLC off my main harddrve and bought the discs for the extra radio station, Vice City FM. But I'd totally pay for another round of DLC to play some more missions along side Yusuf Amir , that dude had me dyin' laughing through every mission. @Voodoo: Changed it to arial, it is a little easier on the eyes though I really do like the Century Gothic font. Haven't adjusted the font tags in the index yet that'll be a bit more painful. On a totally different subject, we have any dog experts floating around? We adopted a border collier-chow mix back in January and really should have started crate training her back when we bought her. My wife finally got tired of her sh*tting and pissing all over the house so we went out and got her a pretty good sized crate yesterday. In the last 48 hours, we've taken her outside like 5 times, she's peed once but refuses to take a crap anywhere but the carpet in front of my bathroom. I'd rip up a square of it and take it outside with us if I thought I could easily replace it but Chow is a stubborn breed. Any Suggestions? Voodoo
You created a bigger problem for yourself by not crate training her right away. Whatever you do now is going to take a lot of work and patience. Maybe pick up some pee pads and set one in that spot at all times. Then, restrict her to the crate except for regular walks until she learns to go outside. Don't give in to the crying. This dog is going to be with you for years - a couple of weeks of work is definitely worth it.
meta187
You created a bigger problem for yourself by not crate training her right away. I seriously said the same. Like we definitely should have started this right off the bat. Even as I'm typing this she's yelping at me but we're trying not to give in to her. We started her out on the Pee pads and they were pretty much hit or miss, sometimes she would use them sometimes she'd step directly to the left of them and piss on the carpet. I have a feeling it's going to be a rough couple of weeks. ~ Studio: Q-13 Lounge / Q:13 Warrior Tunes / Interweb Chex Mix, yo.~
Voodoo
If you put a blanket over the crate with an opening at the front so she can look out, the cave-like atmosphere has a calming effect and may quiet her down while she's in there. Also, walk her immediately after each feeding and take her outside a couple of times between as well. It sounds like she's marked the house pretty well with her urine scent, so maybe try taking her to the same place that she went outside over and over after feedings. Aussiebushmatt
Women, eh? Clichés aside, my girlfriend of seven months decided to break up with me this morning. She said that she didn't like me in the same way that she liked me when we were first going out. However, I was with her yesterday and we were getting on great, as usual. I am completely baffled. It's very out of the blue.
trip
You created a bigger problem for yourself by not crate training her right away. I can not stress the importance of proper crate training. It can be a bit difficult to pull of if started too late. Good sized crate? It should be just big enough for the dog to walk into, turn around, and stand up. Too much room is not a good idea. And I'm sure you know it is suppose to be a very positive thing/place for the dog too. I had the coolest first job. I worked in the specialty pet industry for 9 years. meta, thanks for understanding...and yes I have played through all of the IV episodes both single and MP. Edit: Voodoo, it sounds like we have the same dog crate thoughts. I was going to mention the blanket cave thing too People always like to think their pets have the same type of thoughts their owners do. Dogs are are den animals happy, comfortable, and content in their little nook caves and what not. Since a border collie can be a hyper aware breed the blanket cave thing also helps them to relax, since they only have to be aware of the cave/crate opening door area. Nothing is going to sneak up or go one behind them, so they can relax a bit more. *'tard edits included Edited March 14, 2010 by tripmills My crappy games at MyCrappyGames.com Free copy of Save The Puppies and Kittens
