Version 1 games with Version 1 saves.

Version 2 games with Version 2 saves.

 

hmvartak says his converter makes either game work with either save.

It depends on exe version.

 

If you have V2 exe, then you must have V2 save (ie. save made by v2 script and with v2 id) or you can convert it at converter site. If you've any other exe then you can load any save provided that you must put the proper scripts in the place. No need to worry about id.
