I think there should be a City & Countryside setting, I would like snow aswell.

But mainly CITY & Countryside with little towns like SA.

What do you think?

Please stay on-topic please.

Lovely bias towards a San Andreas-esque setting there.

I can see you have a hard on for San Andreas to return.

I would love some mountainous terrain for some exploring outisde of the main city/ies.

Sand: great to be in a Desert in a GTA, not joking.

Snow: not that good but eh if it is in a little area and the towns are huge(like 3 San Andreases) than it's fine.

Green land: forests are very important (and not the one tree for every 500 meters like in San Andreas, real forest, like in the Amazonas

Dry: what's the point? no.

Cities&Countrysides&towns: sure.

I especially agree with this. Some well done forests would be wonderful. It seems to be hard to create, let alone render such rich forest environments in videogames tho. I've yet to actually play a game with truly well done forests.

San Andreas had lots of open space between clusters of trees. Yet the open space was the majority, while the actual "treed" areas was like 10 percent of Back O' beyond...

TES IV:Oblivion was randomly generated and unnatural --- essentially every part looked the same, and there were no pathways thru the forest, or areas where it was really dense, mixed with open fields --- in Oblivion it was just evenly spaced trees set 30-50 feet apart over and over...

We need some games with REAL forest, where it feels like every path is handcrafted and atmospheric; and also it has variety: some areas of overwhelming density, and others with just open clearing. Oblivion seems to have come the closest tho happy.gif

I'd also like bigfoot to be a rare phenominon, flying saucers X Files stuff too tounge.gif and ghost cars should return icon14.gif

Pics of forests, I'm sure the middle one is a painting:

It would be cool if there was a season system or something with Spring, Autumn, Winter and summer.

With Autumn there are leaves lying on the ground and falling from trees, people sometimes walk in summer clothes and sometimes in winter clothes.

With winter there are no leaves on the trees and there is snow, people walk in winter clothes.

With Spring the leaves come back, the snow goes away and the weather will become nicer, some people will walk in summer clothes some in winter clothes.

With summer there's the nicest weapons and evryone is walking in summer clothes.

The only good thing I can remember about SA forests was that you could easily drive between the trees without fear of crashing lol

I chose city, I'd prefer to see R* focus on creating an amazing city than waste time on a whole load of countryside that has nothing of interest.

oh well, san andreas was fine then.

Or Turkey, that is like that, it has everything from mountains, snow and forests in the east (not to mention ridicoulus poverty) , deserts in the south and beaches and massive cities in the west. Turkey would be perfect.

San andreas wasn't ever fine, these are the mods who keep it alive.

and nope, turkey is still not that good i think the best thing is a Tropical climate, something like hawaii ,Palms everywhere and not these fat palms in SA, beautiful night, great sun [=

Istanbul would be cool.

And yeah, that last image of the forest, now that I look at it does look slightly unnatural. The green on the ground is too "bright" almost like it got a huge dose of radiation or something alien.giflol.gif

I think in that picture it just finished raining and maybe that's why the green is sooo green? turn.gif

I've seen lots of pictures of Istanbul, and a few movies with scenes there (the ending of The International with Clive Owen for example). The city seems to have lots of ancient city/ vibrant/ labyrinth maze-like feel to it from what I've seen.

So it would make it fun to explore on foot and with park-or (sp?) but horrible to drive in.

Istanbul is were east meets west. It really does have everything, crime, bucket loads of corruption, films to draw inspiration from, nightlife and nowhere else feels like it.

Perfect for a gta game.

I'd rather the stagnant swamps of the Dead Marshes than Instanbul.

every one has their tastes tounge.gif .

I would still prefer london though.

I would prefer mountains and countryside . Anyway , the choices that you have given are incorrect and incomplete geographically . For example , You can't say ' City ' , you need to give details like Tropical city ? City above the sea level ( on mountains ) ?

All of the above. The next GTA needs to be in a fictional location that is a summary of the entire planet, containing every environment imaginable. I know size is limited but I'm sure it could be done with something similar to San Andreas in size, maybe a little bigger.
