Subie STi
Hey guys, just two quick questions. I like converting stuff from Sketchup to GTA:SA, I've done everything from bikes to planes! So now I would like to take the sign from the U.S. Bank tower in sketchup and put it on GTA:SA's tower in LS (the big round one). Just take the sign off the sketchup model and throw it on the SA dff. 1st off, what is the name of the building in gta3.img? As in the .dff & .txd files. 2nd, is editing a building as easy as editing a vehicle? Like, do I just take the sign off the Sketchup model, import the building dff, then connect the sign onto the building model (in Schematic), or is there more to it? Any and all help is much welcomed and thanked!
JohnPro
Use MapEditor by tony wob and render lost santos lan.ipl and lan2.ipl. Search for the building you want. Right click on it and click export, choose a folder to save the dff and txd of the building. Once building or model has been exported. Import the DFF in 3ds max or gmax Import your sign from sketchup Now unlike vehicles buildings are attached not linked Simply attach your textured sign to the building. (attach not link) Export and add the textures of the sign into the TXD of the building. Import into gta3.img and rebuild or you can usee GGM to replace the dff and txd in gta3.img. Some say this aint a good idea but has worked for me everytime and if something goes wrong simply reimport those models and rebuild gta3.img manualy and its fixed. If your using sketchup to model I have no idea about it but you should be able to grasp the main idea of how to place your sign on the building. Good Luck
