Installing GTA 4

I'm thinking about buying GTA 4 for the PC for (mainly) the LAN play, but I have a few questions:

 

- Do I need to install anything extra, other than just the game? (I hear about 'windows live' and 'social club accounts', are these necessary?)

 

- Does LAN play have NPCs?

 

- Is it possible to play a LAN game with one CD?

 

- Anything else I should know? tounge.gif

 

Sorry if they're obvious questions, just wanna make sure!
