fili
I'm opting to offer up a large collection of games and consoles. I don't have a list of everything, the reason I post this is for some quick ideas... the systems range from Magnovox Odyssey to Coleco Gemini for Atari 2600, then Sega with the CD, which is proving a popular thing with prospects I've talked with. There is also the alternative 3DO system I chose, the LG brand, which old schoolers know as Goldstar originally. The Goldstar 3DO had a better physical design like the Coleco Gemini. It's pretty hard to place a price on the hardware and software, I will have to inventory all the games, I have on Sega CD; TomCat Alley, Ground Zero Texas, Sonic CD, Stellar Fire. Add to that more hardware, a box of cables, joysticks, deluxe arcade controllers for Sega and Playstation as well as the original PS 1 with RCA jack outputs, rare it seems. I don't see too many if at all that have the RCA direct output to TV and audio. As well, Nintendo N64 and Sega Dreamcast that I've decided I don't have the time for, I likely would regret it at some point but paying bills is most important. I was offered around $300 for someone interested in buying most of the items, I am now thinking even $300 is a bit low, with the games I have, you guys could help me get a cost that's good in mind. Rebel
Best thing you could do is look around Ebay. Just type in a bunch of stuff that you want to sell yourself in the search area and then look at the ones that have bids/set price that have been met and see how well they sell. Then once you've found the basic starting price for each item by searching this way you can sell your items for that price or a lot more when people bid on them. I'd probably sell all of the things you want to get rid of on Ebay to probably your best bet since you'll always get ripped off if you took it into a store. I'd also sell some games with each console that you have to make people more interested. Plus it saves time rather than having to sell everyone individually. fili
Typically I did that with other items, but still had trouble selling them, have no idea why. the Playstation and Sega had some very nice arcade joysticks that were around $50 new. The price on my 3DO box which I still have is $225 when I bought it used.. Thrift store prices are not a good judge because things are always priced pretty low. Xo4
Never take anything to a retail store. as a Fellow Collector I can tell you they rip you off like none other. Ebay is probably your best bet. Unless you want private sales.
