unknowngtafan
I as most of you, cannot wait until the next gta comes out! Unfortunently i have a weird feeling that the new GTA will not come out until about April 2011. My reasoning? I feel as those it would be unwise to put even a game as good as GTA in between two of the biggest releases. Those games being Halo Reach and the new Call of Duty Why would R* put a game in between those two and not gain as much money because some ppl would say why buy another game when i have reach or ill wait 2 weeks and get cod. However if the game was released in Aprill 2011 there would be very little competion and therefore gain more money. Sadly
d0mm2k8
CoD got old after WaW. Halo got old after Halo 2. Whenever GTA comes out, it's at the top of my list.

GTA would be at the top of mine too( unless gears 3 is announced but thats an entire different forum) but there are many other casual gtaers who would rather play halo or cod
SilentSeas
COD seems so generic now whereas GTA remains fresh so the next game is at the top of my list no matter what. As for Halo, I have a PS3, so I don't think about it.
d0mm2k8
Not really a big Gears fan myself. I also agree about the casual gamers who like playing generic FPS games - CoD and Halo out-shine GTA round where I live. People play games just for the repetitive online these days. No one cares about the story ect.

You rarley hear people talking about how amazing somethings campaign is, and can't get away from hearing about "AlL t3H n00 W3pnz N m4pZ"

As for Halo, I have a PS3, so I don't think about it. Yeah Modern Warfare 2 was a great disappointment. The skill that existed from CoD4 vanished. The transition from each GTA has been substantial, and that's always why I'm most interested in hearing about a new GTA game. On the topic of CoD, hopefully Treyarch can bring back the long-time reputation of CoD games. Ah well, I'll have Bad Company 2 to play until Rockstar amaze us yet again. crackdawg
There is one demographic that only likes sandbox games too. Combat game in general are pretty generic. Most of the top games on any platform are FPS games. These take a fraction of the time to develop of a sandbox title, so studios favor them too(fraction of the development cost, but it sales the same cause most consumers are mouth breathers). FPS players influence sandbox games a lot because they are the majority in the consumer base, luckily R* compensates for other preferences so the game isn't just another 'paper weight' title. I agree on the prediction they'll let the other titles cycle a while and refine GTA in private first. R* is pure talent and has the resources to do rapid innovation, it's why they will always stand out among 'paper weight' titles who's replay value steadily degrades as a result of lackluster game mechanics and linear elements.
