Grand Theft Auto is a huge cash cow for RockStar. It has millions of fans around the world and is arguably one of the best game franchises of all time. RockStar are gonna milk that cow for every penny it's worth and for as long as there is a market for it. These aren't the comments of a fan-boy, just those of someone with common sense - it would be stupid for RockStar to end this franchise when it is so successful at the minute. If you look at sit-coms on the TV, they tend to end right when they are at the height of their success so that's how they are always remembered. Americans and Aussies may not have heard about a sit-com called 'Faulty Towers' but that ended after two series (12 episodes) when it was the best thing on TV (apparently...it was before my time). It has been remembered as one of the greatest sit-coms in history coz of this. Games however are different, they don't work that way. GTA is one of the greatest right now but that means the devs will build on that success as quick as possible. Most of us here are expecting the next one to be announced very soon so stay tuned! It is one of the best game franchises ever. It's a great seller, like Need For Speed's, and Turok's. Call of duty series used to be, but they got too greedy, and now they make almost one game in a year! That's quite stupid. There is going to be maaaaaany GTA games after V... junkpile Posted March 11, 2010 Share Posted March 11, 2010 i think there will be another gta, or more. but right now, with the developement and release of games like max payne 3, agent, l.a. noire, red dead redemption, etc. and most notable, the developement of gta 5 (story, characters, physics, graphics, the whole thing) it will most likely take another 4-5 years until we get hands on it. But I'll give you credit for one thing: Nobody is sure if it's really going to be called GTAV. Hell, they may switch the name to something else just to f*ck with us. And for the record, I don't think that using the name "GTA V" suggests that they're breaking from the GTA IV universe. Rockstar has complete freedom to follow whatever naming convention they want. The guys that I've met from Rockstar are really chill, awesome people. They don't seem like the type of marketers that'd stick to being predictable. It was a fun event, but the bigger deal for me was leaving Ontario and traveling to New York for the first time in my life. All the hype they put out for their games and everything (just look at this forum, the first trailer hasn't even been announced yet but look at all the hype!) is just amazing, they are pros.
