Vanilla Shake
This upcoming Wednesday is the 200th episode of South Park. The episode itself is titled "200". Plot: "While on a school field trip, Stan accidentally insults Tom Cruise and sets off a chain reaction. 200 previously ridiculed celebrities stand strong in a class action lawsuit against the town of South Park. This could be the thing that destroys South Park forever." That makes me happy knowing that season 15 won't be the last. TC718 / <629 / CF5

VideoPoker
I just watched the Facebook episode and thought it was all right. Still, I can't help but feel like all of these topical episodes are going to feel dated really fast. If we watch the Kanye West episode or the Facebook episode a decade from now, will they be funny at all? It just feels like South Park has been continuously bashing on celebrities, movies/TV and the news for the past few seasons and I'm really getting bored of it. Totally agree man, the older ones have that timeless value about them, with a bit of a present day touch to them, but I still find them funny even if they're a good few years old. Vanilla Shake
I thought it was pretty sh*t. Eh, whatever. You didn't enjoy all of the references to past seasons, especially the whole Cartman's father episodes from seasons 1 and 2? RomanViking
Maybe South Park will actually do a good part 2, starting from the cliffhanger... I dunno, at the end they're in the standoff and the gingers have the detonator, and they'll blow everything if Mohammad doesn't leave the mascot costume... I just can't shake the thought that part 2 starts with them essentially "cheating" out of that bad situation, by having the giant robot suddenly crush all the gingers and Mohammad remaining hidden... mild SPOILERS AHEAD, although vague: What I'm basically saying is, how many times have we seen cliffhangers on tv, ending with an impossible situation? One where death, or something shocking is the only way out --- but then when part 2 begins that impossible situation is inexplicably solved by the show's writers pulling something out of their ass in order to "cheat" out of the situation... And I enjoyed the references Vanilla Shake... but I didn't realize "Cartmen's Mom" was such an old plot element... Did they really bring back a 12 year old idea? I don't mind at all, I just didn't realize how old it is... Probably only because I've started watching South Park recently, like for 5 years.. I wasn't watching South Park when those old episodes originally aired.
Vanilla Shake
And I enjoyed the references Vanilla Shake... but I didn't realize "Cartmen's Mom" was such an old plot element... I wasn't watching South Park when those old episodes originally aired. On the final episode of season 1, Cartman is acting weird because it's Father's Day and everyone else is out having fun with their fathers, and Cartman doesn't have a father. They round up everyone in town that had sex with Cartman's mom at this barn dance 8 years prior, and then right at the end of the episode you get a cliffhanger as soon as his father is about to be revealed. First episode of season 2 begins with a recap of that last episode, and then they say it will not be aired until the week after for a special Terrance & Philip episode. I've got a feeling they might pull that on us again, because this was the 5th episode of the season, and they only produce 7 in the spring and then 7 in the fall to finish the season. So it would be kinda fitting that they end the first half of the season with the epic conclusion, though I'd prefer it if they don't pull that again because I'm anxious to see what happens next and I don't wanna wait an extra week. But anyway, in the second episode of season 2 they reveal that Cartman's father is actually his mother and that she's a hermaphrodite. FullMetal
What was so sh*t about it? I enjoyed the episode and I'm eagerly waiting for 'part 2'. Enjoyed alot of 'old characters returning'. Though, I do believe that's the point about you finding it 'sh*t' Don Garcia: they're kind of running out on new ideas and need to rehash alot of 'old' stuff (just as Stan said in the beginning). SIKKS66
There's only one man who can stop Mecha Streisand... Maybe an aliance of celebrities who like South Park and Matt and Trey (Jennifer Anniston, George Clooney, Maaatt Daaamon) could come do battle with Tom Cruise, led by Robert Smith. Maybe Robert Smith is Cartman's dad (even though Garrison said it was someone in the room in that episode; my money is on one of the 1989 Denver Broncos). Damn I hope Robert Smith returns. That was a good episode. Funniest moment for me was Tom Cruise stressing out and jumping up and down on the couch... next to Oprah. Liked seeing some of them old celebrities again like Russel Crowe, Mel Gibson and Bob Saget. Edited April 15, 2010 by SIKKS66

SaintJimmy
Wow, what an intense episode. Absolutely loved it! Vanilla Shake
Speaking of which, Mecha-Streisand's theme gave me quite a hearty laugh Hearing her theme song brought back so many memories. I was expecting them to show the Japanese guy on the ground near her singing it like he did in the original episode. And they can't just move on to a different episode without showing us what happens next. It's such a good cliffhanger, I don't think they'd do that to the fans. We all want to witness what is going to happen and they know it. TC718 / <629 / CF5
