Cannot Install Any Mods

I'm using OpenIV but every time I try to put a mod file in, I get a message like this:

Why won't it work? This has happened with every mod I've tried to use and it doesn't make sense. Isn't there an easier way to do this? This problem happens with every mod I try to use. I don't get it. This is extremely disappointing to me.

Try right clicking on the folder "Grand Theft Auto IV" and untick read only

I did and it took away the ability to edit the .wtd files.

hello everyone i am new here. yeah open IV doesn't work, im thinking since the new update all mod software needs to be updated. Spark IV can only replace Open IV if u want to replace files. With open IV we can create new .img files. open IV needs a update asap.. The problem i am getting is when trying to create a new rom with OpenIV is "OpenIV can not work because important information wasnt obtained from the GTAIV.exe please, Set correct patch to the GTAIV.exe in the openIV settings." and everything is setup right..
