She was new to the town yet she knew about the carnival being closed. she "worked with mallorie" yet mallorie works at Roman's depot.... the furnature thing, and in that same cutscene she hides something... then there's the texts you get. "Im on a different assignment" etc. and her probing question. Its obvious but subtle too. the question is: How did ULPC know who niko was that early in the game.... Makes me think that perhaps they have a dossier on him - and perhas investigating his operations in the adriatic before hand? The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. Absurdity Posted March 12, 2010 Share Posted March 12, 2010 (edited) At the point where Niko bursts out to suggest going to the fun fair, he motions forward towards Michelle's direction quite suddenly. At that moment you can see Michelle leap backwards, almost in fright. It's perhaps not so noticeable the first time round, but on subsequent play-throughs it really sticks out like a sore thumb. I did managed to notice it on my initial game, so had a really strong inkling of what would happen. The later clues on Michelle's motives, before the reveal, really just solidified that for me. But her shouting during her "hot coffee time" with Niko was really weird. When she was unmasked, I realised her bedroom must have been bugged, so that's why she asked him to "speak up a little". Michelle is sent to investigate Niko way too early for it to make sense if you ask me. I mean, so early in the game, what has Niko done so badly that the GOVERNMENT or whomever UL Paper is are wanting to investigate him? At that point *SPOILERS* all he has done is drive his cousin to an illegal gambling game and fought a few Albanian thugs who were at his cousins cab office threatning him! Sure there is the whole 'illegal immigrant' thing but why would they spy on him? They'd just turn him in at that point wouldn't they? I know I may be answering my own question here but I think the only way this makes sense is if UL Paper knew about Niko's past working for Bulgarin in the people smuggling trade. What do the rest of you fine people think? EDIT: Sorry, I didn't read the whole topic before posting...and noticed Mokrie Dela posted pretty much the exact same thing as I just did! My bad. She learns of Roman and his debts to Vlad which make him another connection. When Niko shows up, his connection to Roman connects him to Vlad, so Michelle targets him too. Niko then becomes potentially more valuable after he knocks off Vlad and makes contact with higher ups in the mob. Maybe her OCD cover-up really is true! Haha! You're right though Mokrie Dela, that really is the only hole in Magic_Al's theory. However it could be explained rather easily I suppose. Maybe she has been under cover doing surveillance on Vlad and the Russians for some time but her cover was recently almost blown...meaning she really has just moved into that particular place. I figured something was going to happen just not sure until that mission. Also, for the people that see her going undercover to get info about you as a plot hole, it might have been because Niko was in human trafficking and the government could have been keeping an eye on him seeing if he transported people to America. So yes, I was quite surprised when it turned out that she was working undercover. Also, I'm suspecting that she is "UndercoverLover" on love-meet.com . The person in the blurred photo may be Michelle/Karen. Also, the profile says that she (UndercoverLover) is under a FIB witness protection program. Maybe that was indeed the case, and then she was later recruited by UL Paper. Some of the characteristics that ULP gives of Michelle/Karen wagely implies that she was not in the most happy life situation when she was recruited: Niko: So why use me?ULP: We always use people like you. Karen - Michelle... she was the same. Someone with something to lose, but not much to live for. Niko: What did you give Michelle? For me.ULP: Michelle? Karen. We gave her her life back Note the cyan colored hair clip on the right side of UndercoverLover's head. It's not similar in position and shape to Michelle's/Karen's, but "Beta Michelle" does indeed have the same type of hair clip.
