Call for Ideas: GTAV.NET

Recommended Posts

I think the layout is fine as it is. Patrick's work is awesome, but I don't want to fill the site with fan-art incase it's mistaken for something official. Besides, any art we use would have to be generic (since we don't know anything about the game) and that would be extremely challenging for any artist.

There's also another problem: there's at least one other site (that I'm aware of) that uses Patrick's work in their layout. We want our sites to look unique and we don't want them to be confused with other sites.

GTAV.NET is not a full-blown site, at the moment it's a fact sheet for a game that we know little about. I think the current layout reflects that. The site will be re-designed once we have some details about the game.

I've removed the "Why the hate" link and replaced it with something else. To be honest, I don't see any real benefit of addding the Index thread. When I added that section I wanted to promote the most lively discussions to entice people to visit the forum. The Index thread is just a bunch of links. tounge.gif

Hey folks, just an update here: I've been busy dealing with stuff on REDDEAD.NET, so this area (which should be my responsibility) has been neglected.

HOWEVER, with the excitement around Red Dead Redemption hitting a stride, I have enough freedom to bounce back here and pick up where I left off.

So, to all of you who've posted suggestions: Yes, we're taking note of them all. Character battles, getting Patrick Brown on board as a contributor, covering gossip and rumours, etc... it's all been noted.

You'll be seeing more of me around here again, btw. wink.gif

Spaghetti Cat

It's been a while since I've visited gtaV.net...so nice job on the news section.

One question: there was some back and forth about a press conference/release "in the coming weeks" after E3. Was this just a rumor or is the presser been delayed?

i hope you can go under water and can go into bars and drink by yourself and go into houses and just look around and stuff like you could do in gta SA thats what i hope you can do smile.gif

Welcome to the forum. This topic is for ideas for GTAV.net, NOT the next game.

I wouldn't mind busting out the ol' webcam and microphone to bring back the GTA Netcast. tounge.gif We did a few fun episodes in the leadup to GTA IV.

Problem with GTA-oriented podcasts is that we lose subject matter really quickly after the game is released; there isn't a steady flow of new content to talk about.

Bringing this up again...

As we get closer and get more theories, rumours, fake screens etc i would love for this to get started. At least monthly...

Who cares about it being random and just talking about daily stuff and gaming in general... Podcasts are fun things to listen too, and during the infoage before the game gets released i think there will problably be at least a couple of things to tackle each month.

icon14.gif Agreed.

Documenting the pedestrians would be a fantastic collaboration!

Wiki-ing the sight up wouldn't be needed though, we will have a GTAVwiki page for that reason.

Of course you need to have that pod cast (Andy you promised us this).

Maybe a little bit of a more dynamic backround than black?

other then those things, you guys are doing a wonderful job, let us just prepare for GTAv.

Andy, I've got my colour scheme/theme of gtaf as the blue theme (sorry, can't remember the name but it's not the default one, more like an update of the default scheme) and it's great on my eyes. It's relaxing and subtle and everything is easy to see (different colourS text etc)

For RedDead.net I find the red a bit striking on the eye. It's quite harsh on my eyes and I don't think I can ever be quite comfortable with it. I understand it based off the artwork/boxart but I find it doesn't represent the feeling of the game which is made up of organic colours that are easy on the eye: brown colours, sand, dirt, wood, trees, green. I was thinking reddead.net would look nicer if it went to the general mood of the game rather than the mood of the boxart which almost seems to be designed to catch the eye.

With regards to the next GTA game, I think the forum colours should be either represented by the tone and mood of the game visually and not on the marketing of it. Or just something plain and simple. You can never go wrong with plain and simple.

Part of the reason why I love coming back to gtaforums is due to it's simplistic layout.

ok i want to give everything i wish for first of all i want to find a lot of mum's carrying ther baby's and we can approach like we are innocent and talk to her then we steal the baby and she starts to scream and some peaople want to help her so they run after me or call police and also we can steal a purse from a lady and my character shoul every day eat 3 meals or 4 and take a bath and go to the toilet or he could do it on the road or something like that and if he dont eat he will become skinny and he can go to the gym and have some muscels and he shoul have his own car and have a FAMILY AND CHILDRENS THAT WHEN HE COME HOME THEY RUN TO HUG HIMM AND HE CAN HAVE A DOG OR CAT so u shoul make it like ur life like u are living it colgate.gifcolgate.gifcolgate.gif hope so colgate.gifcolgate.gifcolgate.gifcolgate.gif
