How about a 'Theory-Of-The-Week'? A page that shows the best GTA V theory of the week.

 

Or have random polls that eventually lead lead up to one theory of the game. for example, if you have a poll for the location, features, etc., then you could pile all that up to one page and make it one big GTA V theory that was made by the COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE. Aye, could be quite interesting, yes.

Would the community be able to submit questions about neXt to a rep from R*? Pick the five or ten best questions from the forums and pose them to a R* rep or PR person. The reason I ask is because the community as a whole might get a better response that just one poor member. Figuring that the admins might have some contact over there...though it may be just wishful thinking.

At first it could be just speaking about ideas for the game, commenting topics and posts in the NeXt forum, debunking rumours and such, and then when some more info comes, there can be discussions regarding that, and of course the debunking of rumours aswell as commenting posts in the NeXt section can go on after media and info has been released aswell.

 

And then when the game is released, there could be monthly or so competitions, where one can win a small icon and something for the forums, and/or physical prizes sometimes aswell, such as a copy of the game, dlc codes or merch.

 

There could be tips and tricks for the game each week, special guests, etc etc...

 

And i would be glad to help out making it happen, if you need that.

 

 

 

 

As for the website itself, i'd enjoy to have a "screenshot of the day" or "screenshot of the week" thumbnail in the sidebar of the site.

 

At first, before the release of the game, it could just be randomizing from released screenshots and, or screens from trailers... After the game is released, people should be able to submit their own screenshot and then they should be added to the random rotation of images for "screenshot of the x". A gallery function should be tied to this, with a commenting section, aswell as possibility to rate the pictures (1/10) and favourite them.

 

And i would like to see the mission walkthroughs, the interactive map, and alot of the other goodies from GTA4.net returning.

 

Might come with more suggestions later.

If the first trailers reveal the time the game is set, I would be interested to see a brief portion outlining the relevance of that year and what real-life events could influence what we see in the final game.

We did something like that for San Andreas.

 

Rockstar asked each fan site to submit 6 questions, so we got GTAForumers to suggest questions and selected the 6 best ones. It would be cool to do that again, I'll ask nearer the time.

I wouldn't mind busting out the ol' webcam and microphone to bring back the GTA Netcast. We did a few fun episodes in the leadup to GTA IV.

 

Problem with GTA-oriented podcasts is that we lose subject matter really quickly after the game is released; there isn't a steady flow of new content to talk about.

We did something like that for San Andreas.

Tho I'd hate to be the guy that combs through all the silly questions. Still, I think it would be a nice forum activity, esp. if we could get some actual feedback from the guys at R*. The previous one you linked to was pretty telling as to what the game finally came out as. Hopefully we could do something like that for neXt!

 

 

@ the podcast idea: You could do something like a "theory of the week" type thing. Tackle one issue at a time, like location, or protag. Then move on to something else like planes, or custimization; just a thought.

Steal parts off cars

An area where all cars are saved (like a warehouse)

Maybe the warehouse could also have like features like drug labs (so you can have an income or drugs 2 sell) and security

Being able to start or choose to be in a gang

An army base, for stealing army cars, or more intence getaways from cops

More clothing options

I want to be inside the airports, and police stations

Maybe you could build a drug lab in the mountains

Maybe we could do something similar to this?

Yeah, my explanation was kinda bad.

 

I'll do an example:

Say 8 characters were in the tournament. There'd be, for Round 1, (if the rate of voting was one poll a day) 8 days of voting, one poll each.

Character 1 V Character 2

Character 3 V Character 4

Character 5 V Character 6

Character 7 V Character 8

 

After Round 1 is finished, Round 2 begins. Say all the odd-numbered characters got the most votes in the polls. THey'd go forward to the next round.

Character 1 V Character 3

Character 5 V Character 7

 

Then, say 1 and 5 both won. They'd go against each other in a final poll.

 

That was probably a crap explanation as well, but I hope it helps.

Yeah, don't try to delete or cover up misinformation. That's really annoying, just label stuff as incorrect once it has been proven false.

 

Maybe try to get some interviews posted with R* employees, or even better, disgruntled/former employees. I know they won't spill the beans but maybe an interview about the more technical aspects or something. Even if it's about older GTA games people will still head to the website to read it.

 

Or even if you get a response of "No Comment" people will still be interested No Comment = N.C. "the location must be North Carolina!"

See how easy it is to spread a rumor around? Seriously though, I hope there is some news at the upcoming press conference(or whatever). The V site is due for some new info, at least a logo or city. This cat can only hope.

 

 

 

A bit more OT: I think it would be nice if there was a little comparison with the neXt city and it's real life counter-part. Like how people were comparing the footage from the first trailer to the NYC landmarks. Like Times' Square, the Screamer roller-coaster, and the statue of Liberty. So if its Vice it could feature south beach, or London could feature Big Ben, or something along those lines...just a thought!
