Alright, here's my problem. I installed CLEO4. Now when I run the game, nothing happens. I double click the gta_sa.exe, the visual theme changed to 7 basic, and nothing happens for a good 20 seconds. After 20 seconds, the game kills itself from the process list and the theme changes back to normal. Which means the game has killed itself and refuses to run

 

Any ideas on what's wrong? I really want to try CLEO4, but it either doesn't like my PC, or my PC doesn't like CLEO4

 

BTW: I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate

 

EDIT: Solved by removing gxthook.cleo and the CLEO_TEXT folder

Have you added the correct bass.dll version to the SA folder? Do you use a 32-bit or a 64-bit Windows? Have you messed with the DEP settings in Windows? Are you using a standard 1.0 Hoodlum cracked EXE? Are you using CLEO 4.0 or CLEO 4.1?

1. gtasearcher gave me a bass.dll which works for CLEO4, so I guess so

3. Yes, although I added the gta_sa.exe to the DEP ignore list

4. Yes, I even tried the cleo compact exe too

only game don't start when I add ".fxt" files in folder "CLEO_TEXT"

EDIT: Delete your files from "CLEO_TEXT" folder. backup before deleting

I knew I shouldn't have released a CLEO 4 mod so soon... damn my impatience.

 

I reported the CLEO_TEXT issue a day or two ago, but it was something that only seemed to kick in since the new version.

 

Furthermore.. damn CLEO 4 is not officially out yet... There are only 2 mods I know of that are available with it and I only posted mine out of over excitement with it's new features and to give people a bit of a pre-introduction to what you can do with the opcodes (since everything is in Russian, so far)...

 

I actually thought it'd be ready in a few days considering how smoothly things went. If I'd known how much needed to be fixed I would've waited... Unless you really want Carmen or to learn how to do stuff with CLEO 4 (which I know you may, but surely it's no immediate big deal. I've posted source in case anyone wanted a heads up without downloading CLEO 4) there's no real reason to not wait until a safer version... I'd say this stage of CLEO 4 is purely for people working on mods. Hold the releases back until people are able to run CLEO 4 like I should've... you really don't want the PM's confused.gif

 

 

Updates to fix the CLEO Text Problems:

 

CLEO 4

CLEO 4 (Rapidshare - May not be updated)

 

- Try removing cleo.asi before installing update.

- Remove GxtHook.cleo, there is no more need for this as it is built-in to CLEO 4 wink.gif

 

New update comes with .cleo files made for additional functions.

Much thanks to both of you. Removing gxthook.cleo didn't fix it, but moving the CLEO_TEXT folder did

Also, on a semi-related note, when upgrading Citizen to CLEO4 I had to hack my own TextHook.cpp code since GxtHook is no longer optional with CLEO4 confused.gif Anyway, now GTAScriptHook is also compatible with any other jump opcode that might be in 0x6A0050 function. (and yes, I know both that location and 0xA49960 without looking up)

EDIT: Copied the main title line from Deji's Carmen mod, and that dsiplayed properly, dunno wtf went wrong with mine

 

 

I must say CLEO4 is what GTA has been needing for a while. Now we have no real need for FXT or GXT editing, we can do it all from a single CS. Just a shame CLEO4 had to come out this late where most CLEO scripts have gone on to GTA IV

so has the .fxt issue been resolved yet? if it isnt fixed i believe it will prevent many of us from upgrading to Cleo4, since most of us love the convenience of .fxt files for added vehicles names (existing ones as well). But i just checked the sascm.ini and i love how you can now hook mp3 files to peds, vehicles as well as any 3D coord. This is the feature im excited about. smile.gif

if you mean that it wont run gtasa.exe confused.gif this means that i wont download cleo 4 james but i have windows xp home edition so maybe cleo 4 wont work on windows 7 ultimate cryani.gif

It does work perfectly. I just needed to delete gxthook.cleo and the CLEO_TEXT folder

Simple fact is, though. Is that CLEO4 is BETA ATM.

Nice to know Seemann has fans and it's also fun to know that people think CLEO 3 must've just been created in a matter of hours with no bugs at all.

 

CLEO started out as code that you had to put straight into the main.scm... CLEO 3 has 50 opcodes, but CLEO 2 and 1 are often forgotten about. No one seems to understand how while CLEO 3 had 3 releases to make 50 opcodes, CLEO 4 has only one release and 50 opcodes are being added.

 

That means a longer time to test each one and find bugs for it... Not only that, but Alien is fixing bugs from CLEO 3 and introducing many new ways and methods of using opcodes. Fact is that CLEO 4 has much more dangerous/effective opcodes, meaning there is much more chance of them going wrong. So I'm even impressed with how stable it is so far. My only problems have been when it crashed with fxt (fixed), when new games didn't end CLEO missions (fixed) and

 

I doubt you even know who Alien is, really. Go around the Russian Sanny Builder forums and you'll find that he's helped with a lot of things already. He was also working on a .cleo plugin that adds loads of new opcodes before he got the source of CLEO. Seemann handed CLEO over to him for a reason smile.gif

 

 

And if you really look around, you'll find he's working on a lot more than CLEO 4. Stuff that will not be taken for granted when you see it.

 

Jeesh... Know a person before you talk type about them... Talk about them all you want to yourself. Nag, nag, nag...
